François Arnaud talks about the secrecy surrounding season two of Heated Rivalry and the increased luxury we'll see onscreen:
"I had to sign 14 papers telling me to shut up."
“[The budget,] it’s not bad [it’s] the same budget, except for clothes and cars."
"Designers sent [clothes] that rich hockey players would wear. The big car brands sent [cars] that these players would drive in life.”

It’s election eve, and a new poll from Liaison Strategies has boosted Chow’s chances to beat Bradford in City Hall Watcher’s election projection. Still close!

🇺🇸🇲🇽 New York Mayor Mamdani is now speaking directly to immigrants IN SPANISH, telling them how to deal with ICE agents
And he's getting VERY specific.
Don't open your door without a judicial warrant. You have the right to remain silent. Don't sign anything before speaking with a lawyer.
He even explains how to check whether a warrant is actually signed by a judge, rather than simply issued by immigration authorities.
Mamdani also reminds residents that NYPD officers do not participate in routine federal civil immigration enforcement and points them toward the city's free immigration legal hotline.
He's promising to protect the RIGHT TO PROTEST, too.
This goes beyond criticizing Trump's immigration crackdown. Mamdani is personally walking New Yorkers through how to exercise their rights when federal agents show up at their doors.
And he's doing it in the language many of the people he's trying to reach speak at home.

Picking on Mayor Chow dancing cultural festivals is stupid. For the people who have worked so hard to execute these events, having the Mayor attend & even participate (have fun doing it!!??) validates their event & elicits pride. If you don't know this, you're just not trying.

You know guys, I’m so tired. We all love to blame the mayor for our problems. Affordability, housing, transit, congestion.
When in reality, almost all of it could be solved by our premier but he’s focused on not actually solving our problems, and building things no one wants.

My @TorontoStar column: One reason this mayoral election hasn’t seen many big ideas? Blame Doug Ford, and his meddling in Toronto issues
There is one big idea that could change all of this, though. We should be talking about making Toronto a Charter City thestar.com/opinion/contribu…

“Earlier this year, a group of experts tasked by Chow and council to study municipal autonomy submitted a report recommending the city pursue a constitutionally protected city charter.”

Hudson Williams on his relationship with the fans (via @EW)
“‘Sometimes they scare me,’ he acknowledges. That’s because the actor, facing the enormity of instant fame at the age of 25, values his anonymity. There are times, as he puts it, when he’d love to remain tucked away in a cellar sanctuary with his friends around him. ‘It’s so much more of a rarity nowadays,’ he says.
It’s a relatable desire. ‘When you’re walking down the street, most people don’t want to be stopped to talk to 10-30 strangers — as much as they’re perfectly well-intentioned, good, kind people,’ he continues. ‘I wanna listen to music and be selfish over my Starbucks and sit in silence with my book. So those things are very pragmatic. How do I deal with this? How do I still protect my peace?’
That’s by no means to say he doesn’t appreciate the fandom. In the case of something like Yaga, ‘They’re the people that keep what we do alive and without people watching, there’s nothing.’”

These 32 #BloodBikes commemorate the 32 people killed on Bloor, Yonge & University in 20-years before bike lanes were built.
After bike lanes were installed only one tragic loss of a life has occurred in 6-years since 2020.
Bike lanes keep EVERYONE save.

Hey @TO_Cycling_Ped and @TTChelps why are they destroying the modular bus stop and not removing it and re-using it? cc: @PrabSarkaria this seems like even more egregious than removing the bike lanes...these are designed to be re-used...

It was my pleasure to gather with actor Jean Yoon, former Toronto Mayor Barbara Hall, former Premier Kathleen Wynne, business leader Cheesan Chew, and political analyst and commentator Supriya Dwivedi, for a roundtable discussion on the future of our city.
I’m looking forward to sharing more of our conversation soon, where we discussed many important things: protecting public services like libraries and our water supply; investing in local neighbourhoods; and defending democratic values by championing inclusive leadership.
I am grateful for their support.
As we wait impatiently for the second season of #HeatedRivalry, hockey season IRL has kicked off in Canada! The first few weeks were action-packed as Canadian teams began their race towards the Stanley Cup. Which Canadian team are you rooting for? 🏒

If this isn't AI, it worked hard to look like AI. Also, using AI in a campaign ad feels oddly perfect for Brad Bradford
If we want to change the city, we have to change the mayor.
Vote on October 26 to get Toronto unstuck.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The video ad is not AI-generated. It was professionally filmed and produced by humans using real crew and equipment, per BTS photos and statements from the production team.

Transit advocacy group @ttcriders did an extensive survey of Toronto election candidates, asking if they would commit to 18 priorities. Chow committed to all of them. Bradford didn't respond.

I was waiting for the inevitable I love the Toronto marathon but…it’s like nimbyism but instead of opposing development he has issues with this. We know these events are happening. They’re planned well in advance. It’s not a daily occurrence. #TOpoli
Mayoral candidate Brad Bradford says while events like the Toronto Waterfront Marathon are key to the identity of the city, they also highlight that the city needs to do a better job of coordinating events with major road closures. toronto.citynews.ca/2026/10/…
