My three children spent an entire Sunday arguing about who should take me in. I sat quietly at the dining table, listening to them discuss me like I was a piece of unwanted furniture.
I was 78, my savings were almost gone, and my landlord had raised the rent again. My oldest son said his house was too crowded. My daughter said her husband wouldn't agree. My youngest insisted he couldn't afford another person under his roof.
