Today, I was in the North East visiting those who helped hold communities together during recent unrest. In the face of hatred and violence, their commitment to their faith and their local area has never wavered. A true privilege to hear about their work.

We've had a lot of negative press in Hartlepool as a result of the recent protests. However, the fundraiser that was set up for the town to support the local mosque and the affected businesses managed to raise £10,000 in just over 24 hours! Hartlepool is an amazing and inclusive community when we pull together, and I couldn't be prouder of my town's response after those thuggish attacks. justgiving.com/crowdfunding/…
