o.o I gained 30 followers since yesterday. Hi folks! This account is pro-Zionist, pro-Gay rights and mostly talks politics (Canadian, and too often American). Also a little law. I try to promote an inclusive Canadian nationalism around the King. Hope you enjoy your stay!

This is actually the game that made me stop being interested in newer boware games alongside Andromeda man It's so fucking boring, I felt nothing doing anything
Dragon Age: Inquisition - fight ancient evil. - navigate political alliances. - customize your own castle. - discover the great secret of the elves. - meet a god. This is BioWare's best-selling game ever, a deserving GOTY winner, and my favorite game in the franchise.

Personally I might have Closed on Healthcare, considering how often he uses it to parry more controversial topics like...well, this. But I suppose "fuck them Jews," is a choice too.

Can we maybe hold off on deconstructing the gender binary until civil rights are achieved

The Indian Act created a suborder of municipalities (that is, governments of a similar, but lesser power than municipalities), as part of a junk science theory of "civilizing" through stages. Pretty sure they can handle at least as much power as our feckless mayors now.

Everyone agrees we should get rid of the Indian Act. Thereโ€™s rather less agreement on what should come after.
Wab Kinew calls on Ottawa to abolish Indian Act: "I'm not sure if that lines up with your vision of Canada, that we still have a race-based form of identification in this country. It's long overdue that we have a relationship with Indigenous peoples in Canada that reflects who we are as Canadians today."

I like his take on this a little more than Kinew's. My only issue is I don't know if he needs the sideshow this will undoubtedly become. Nevertheless, probably a good idea.
Mark Carney on abolishing the Indian Act: "I'm committed to a process that moves Canada beyond the Indian Act."

This probably isn't a bad idea, but the reason we haven't done it yet is *replacing,* the Indian Act is a lot easier said than done.
Abolish the Indian Act. We have nothing to lose but our chains. We will, of course, need new legislation that is an interface between the Federal government and First Nations. And this MUST be created alongside Chiefs and First Nation governments every step of the way. But it is time to move past the era of this outdated, racist, and patriarchal legislation. I support Prime Minister Carneyโ€™s work to position Canada as a global leader in human rights and democracy. The Indian Act is inconsistent with achieving that vision. Our laws at home should reflect the values we champion around the world. Itโ€™s time for a relationship with First Nations people that reflects who we are as Canadians today, recognizes nationhood, and lives up to the true nature of reconciliation.

Reposting this banger from @ContraPoints. Leftists overestimate themselves massively. They're not nearly as eclectically well-read as they think they are.

Itโ€™s wildly known that conservatives need to murder at least one orca upon achieving power. As is tradition.

My take is it's a good thing that BC had a say on reconciliation. It impacts us as much as First Nations, so our governments need to be responsive. Wab Kinew once famously said "we have to bring the working class with us," on Climate Change. Eby didn't do that, and he lost.
I asked Premier Kinew if he has concerns about Premier-designate Doerksen's promise to repeal DRIPA in BC: "The election results in BC should concern every elected politician and every consultant out there... what we're doing is not a game." #cdnpoli

As a lifelong NDP supporter who even worked with them in Canadaโ€™s Parliament in Ottawa, I am so glad the NDP no longer rule politics in British Columbia. As someone who has worked more than full-time on Vancouverโ€™s tragic DTES for 10 years, I have witnessed first-hand their disastrous policies with hundreds of millions of dollars pouring into the neighbourhood every year to sustain the status quo, but no meaningful help available to those with serious mental health and addiction issues. northernbeat.ca/opinion/unchโ€ฆ

It should be reminded that Hamas did recently threaten another Oct 7th, and does have tendrils in the West Bank. It is no surprise Israel is reacting somewhat, ahem, vigorously.
Since this morning, Iโ€™ve been unable to leave my home. All checkpoints in H2 and exits from Hebron are closed. Israeli forces have begun demolishing homes and shops near the site of the attack. Residents are living in fear, cut off from basic necessities. We urgently call on the UN, international governments, and humanitarian organizations to act now: protect civilians, demand an end to unlawful demolitions and collective restrictions, and ensure safe access to essential supplies and emergency services. Hebron must not be forgotten. We need urgent action, not just statements of concern.
