He allowed 70-year-old migrant Chaudhry Zaman of Slough to walk free from court after he was convicted of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl - Suspended sentence plus 80 hours’ unpaid work
He allowed 69-year-old Imam Mohammed Habibullah of Dudley to walk free from court after sexually assaulting a vulnerable woman because he had a been iman for the muslim community for 25 years - Suspended sentence
He allowed Santokh Mahal of Wolverhampton to walk free after he carried out six sexual assaults on four women aged from 18-years-old to 47-years-old - Suspended sentence
He allowed former Dudley Labour Councillor and court magistrate Derrick Hemingsley who took hundreds of indecent images of two boys aged under 12 to walk free from court - Suspended sentence
He allowed Simon Aldridge of Dudley to walk free from court after he downloaded “vile” indecent photographs and films involving children as young as six being raped and abused - Suspended sentence

SHOCKINGLY, IN 2020, MRS JUSTICE RUSSELL OVERTURNED ONE OF HIS FAMILY COURT DECISIONS AFTER FINDING SERIOUS ERRORS IN HIS UNDERSTANDING AND APPLICATION OF THE LAW ON RAPE AND CONSENT!!! 😡
TOLSON HAD REJECTED A WOMAN’S RAPE ALLEGATION, PLACING SIGNIFICANCE ON THE FACT THAT SHE HAD NOT PHYSICALLY RESISTED HER FORMER PARTNER!!!
THE HIGH COURT MADE CLEAR THAT A WOMAN DOES NOT HAVE TO PHYSICALLY FIGHT OFF AN ATTACKER FOR SEXUAL ACTIVITY TO TAKE PLACE WITHOUT CONSENT!!!
HIS DECISION WAS OVERTURNED AND A REHEARING ORDERED!!!

IN 2021, THE COURT OF APPEAL EXAMINED ANOTHER CASE IN WHICH TOLSON HAD REJECTED RAPE ALLEGATIONS AND HAD NOT FULLY INVESTIGATED OTHER CLAIMS OF EMOTIONAL AND FINANCIAL ABUSE!!!
SENIOR JUDGES IDENTIFIED SERIOUS PROBLEMS WITH HIS APPROACH TO THE EVIDENCE!!!
THEN, IN 2025, ANOTHER DECISION WAS OVERTURNED AFTER TOLSON PERMITTED UNSUPERVISED VIDEO CONTACT BETWEEN A FATHER AND HIS CHILDREN DESPITE THE FATHER HAVING PLEADED GUILTY TO ASSAULTING THEIR MOTHER AND MEMBERS OF HER FAMILY!!!
AND IN JULY 2026, TOLSON FACED FURTHER CRITICISM AFTER ALLOWING A FATHER OVERNIGHT CONTACT WITH THREE CHILDREN WHILE POLICE WERE INVESTIGATING ALLEGATIONS THAT HE HAD RAPED THEIR MOTHER!!!
THE FATHER HAD ADMITTED DOMESTIC ABUSE, INCLUDING VIOLENCE AND COERCIVE CONTROL!!!
MR JUSTICE KEEHAN OVERTURNED THE DECISION AND ORDERED THE CASE TO BE REHEARD!!!
EVEN MORE CONTROVERSIALLY, TOLSON WAS REPORTED TO HAVE SAID HE DID NOT ACCEPT EARLIER CRITICISM OF HIS APPROACH TO CONSENT!!!
