With @Coredao_Org's $CORE coin down nearly 95%, many are quick to call the blockchain a failed one.
But is this the case?
According to @icecream_swap, the chain's OG DEX, what made Core chain special wasn't its utility, native asset, or consensus mechanism. Rather, the community did.
In essence, the DEX is backing the community to make CORE strong once again.

Core steps its block reward down every year instead of halving it
@Coredao_Org caps coredaoorg:native at 2.1 billion tokens, a figure its documentation describes as exactly 100 times Bitcoin's 21 million.
New supply enters through block rewards, the tokens paid to the validators producing each block, spread across an 81-year schedule per Core's whitepaper.
Rather than cutting the reward in half every four years the way Bitcoin does, Core steps its emission rate down at every 10,512,000th block. At the network's roughly three-second block time, that lands about once a year.
Each step is far smaller than a Bitcoin halving but is more frequent, with the schedule running until the full 2.1 billion cap is distributed.

Worked for a month, only to get a very low amount of XEF.
Some users got only 130 XEF despite spending their time and effort.
