I was going to buy $100k of mattresses from @mattressguy_
But didn't because he was using a gmail address
Kicking ass for my boy @mattressguy_

if you need a mattress do not look anywhere else
How red baron responds will be the most studied PR move in history.
Clock is ticking.
Look at the replies to all @redbaronpizza posts.
The father stocking the grocery store being "pranked" and filmed has the whole internet behind him.
Do the right thing Red Baron. Backup your employee. If you fire him the backlash will be much worse than the Bud Light backlash.
You don't have the money or the lobbying power of Anheuser-Busch to survive it.
I have no idea what the hell is going on in MN.
But I do know this is a nuclear bomb in hotel valuations.
New construction hotel in Iowa costs $180k+/room.
I've personally done 3 intense hotel renovations that cost over $20k/room.
So it's impossible to think how ANY major downtown hotel sells for $14k/room.
My parents bought an INDEPENDENT hotel in Iowa for more than that..in 2005!
At this basis there are endless options for operating as is or converting to studio apartments, senior living, etc.
But it's still a ballsy $5m+ bet.
What's the bull case Minneapolis turns around?
Maybe Iowa should invade.
Downtown Minneapolis just took a MASSIVE hit...
The Royal Sonesta, an upscale 360 room hotel, just sold for just $5M - a BRUTAL 93% 'discount' from its $75M purchase price in 2018
That's just ~$14K per room, down from ~$208K just 8 years ago...
Here's the interesting part:
The location is genuinely prime by downtown Minneapolis standards
It's an upscale, 4-star property in the HEART of DT Minneapolis, steps from Nicollet Mall and connected to the city's skyway system
It's genuinely WILD seeing hotels like this being sold at 90%+ discounts, even knowing what's driving these sales...
What does the future hold for Minneapolis?
Stay tuned and follow for more commercial real estate deals trading at massive discounts
3 hotels, 168 mattresses
We replaced every single one, took 2 semi trucks!
Now the reviews are coming in.
Not giving away the secret sauce of where we sourced them.
But suffice to say, I think I'm part of the mattress mafia now.
Insider tip, if you want to ruin @mattressguy_ and @mattressguysbro's day

Wife and I were cracking up.
When was the last time a car made you laugh?
Icing on the cake for the best car I’ve ever owned.
Two iowa travel hacks that will save you a ton of money and time:
ONE -
For hotels, the cheapest way to have a great stay is to book rooms direct.
Go to hotel pommier com, search for your dates, and book
Expedia is doing the same & charging you 18%. Just cut them out
This works for our hotels in Indianola, Chariton, & Winterset all of them!
Simple. Obvious. But no one does it.
Two home service hacks that will save you a ton of money and time:
ONE -
For drywall, the cheapest way to get good drywall work is to hire the drywall guy directly.
Go on indeed, post a $20/hour job for a short term drywall guy.
The drywall company is doing the same & charging you $60+/hour. Just cut them out
This works for painting, fencing, tile, almost any trade.
Simple. Obvious. But no one does it.
TWO - 👇
Son just gave me a lecture about not throwing the ball at the mirror.
He threw the ball at the mirror.
Then lecturing me about no daddy, no throw mirror no like that.
I’m like my man you threw the ball I’m just waiting to eat dinner.
Just saved $50. Thanks @jkrums!
If you own a hotel this chrome extension will be your best friend.
Side note - chilled & filtered water dispenser is a no brainer.
Our guests love them. Crazy more hotels don't have these.
I have a belief that it’s inevitable we win.
If I didn’t, I’d have a regular job.
No late calls, nice benefits, no stress making payroll.
But I made a decision to forgo a solid paycheck to build something bigger.
So far it’s been a lot of sacrifice, but the past two years I’m starting to see things compound into tangible benefits.
Feels good but almost necessary at this point since ever other day selling everything crosses my mind.
Yet in 450 posts we’ve been able to amass 250k+ followers across social platforms.
Making the posts were relatively easy. But the years it took for that content to exist feels like a lifetime.
Feeling excited about the future is a baseline requirement for owning a business.
Hotel owners - this is the only acceptable setting.
Guests - don't stay at hotels that knowingly overbook.
Took the advice of people much smarter than me.
Hired a staffing agency to help us fill entry level roles.
Could feel the pressure dissipate from our regional manager after the sales call.
Hiring logistics can steal 10-20 hours out of her week.
Now, fully qualified, vetted candidates would just appear on our door step...
...Except we are 0/3.
1 - Worked 7 hours then quit after saying the commute would be too expensive (lied about having a car)
2 - 9am start time, hotel messages at 9:15 asking if they were coming. They text the recruiter they are already onsite (they were not!). Eventually ghosts the recruiter.
3 - Agreed to a Sunday start but "got a flat tire" so pushed to Wednesday. 0.1% chance this one works out.
If budget allows we drastically need to hire a dedicated HR/recruiter. Seems like a great excuse to try @HirePavago
