"93% of the houses occupied in 1940 did not exist in 1880" You may think you've seen a lot of housing permitted near you, but it's nothing compared to the pre-zoning golden age

Kenny is right. When you play games by trying to splinter the housing market, you get inequitable outcomes. Doesn't matter if it's geography, income, or age of building. Draw lines, get redlining.
Replying to @alykatzz
I’m on record calling some of our rent stabilized laws “state endorsed redlining”, why? Because when lenders can look at the language of the law and clearly see their money will not be repaid, they will not loan it. When money is not flowing into buildings, tenants pay the price. It’s exactly why I entered this fight back in 2023 as a Bronx Assemblyman. We’ve seen what redlining did to the housing stock of my home borough and it was clear to me we were headed down that same path. Now we have the two most important mortgage purchasers saying the quiet part out loud because on top of the law we have the prospect of 4 years of rent freezes. If politics keeps searching for the easy way to appease voters then we will repeat the Bronx’s history, except this time it will be citywide. Last time it was the arsonists, this time it’s the politicians and their pen.

She’s got her whole career ahead of her and she risked it all to stand on principle. You’re in the twilight of your career with nothing to lose and you’re so desperate to hang on to power that you’re caving to the Islamo-Marxist antisemites. You’re an embarrassment.
This is a despicable betrayal from Rep. Stevens. Senate Democrats are united in our support for Abdul El-Sayed, because we know he will fight for the economic interests of working families in Michigan, unlike Mike Rogers, who is a tool of Donald Trump and billionaire donors.

Oh, so the Democratic Party *can* expel anyone it wants to. What have they been waiting for with the DSA?  🤔
Congresswoman Stevens is not a current member of the Michigan Democratic Party, nor will she be in the future.

This post from @wildforcongress sums up the lunatic left maybe better than anything I’ve ever read in my life. In a nutshell she says “I know @HaleyforMI better than anybody else and she’s is an awesome, caring, smart, thoughtful person who has worked her ass off for Michigan. However she is now the devil for 1 reason and 1 reason only. She won’t ignore her moral compass and blindly vote for Abdul Sayed despite his glaring and well documented red flags” Susan Wild and her ilk are too demented to realize this post says alot more about her lack of courage, ethics and morals than it does Stevens. Basically what Wild is saying is that it doesnt matter if the Dems put a Nazi on the ballot (they did in Maine) a communist, a socialist or a terrorist sympathizer she wont ask questions and will blindly follow the herd. That would have been the easy thing for Stevens to do but she is not gutless and a coward like Susan Wild. With friends like @wildforcongress who needs enemies
I know @HaleyforMI way better than most people on X. She and I came into Congress together in 2018. She was co-Prez of our freshman class. She was incredibly kind to me when my late partner died; she organized a big group of our class to come to the House floor to support me when I spoke about his suicide. We were roommates in 2023, after my wonderful first roomie lost her election; both my adult kids know Haley well and are on a texting basis with her. We’ve socialized and we have good friends in common. While she and I differ on one impt issue, specifically Israel and AIPAC support, I’ve never publicly challenged her on those things, because I felt that her good points outweighed the issues I disagreed with her on. Today, that changes. 👇 Haley’s endorsement of Rogers in the MI senate race is appalling. Not because he’s a Republican, but because what he stands for is what she, and I, and our caucus has fought so hard against. Rogers is a 100% anti-choice politician. He is a Trump loyalist. He’s shown his Islamophobia in his many remarks against @AbdulElSayed, and with this endorsement, Haley has shown that she agrees with his positions. I’m shocked by Haley’s endorsement. I’m terribly sad and disappointed. I’m furious and will be more so if we lose the MI senate race. So many people in the Democratic Party have shown so much support to Haley over the years, and she has betrayed them all. If this is because of her new relationship (about which many of us were so happy for her after she lost the primary), all I can say is that any woman who abandons her friends when a new guy comes along is no friend at all. The fallout for Haley won’t just be in Dem politics; she will be a pariah among her friends in the Democratic caucus in Congress. Only she will be able to decide whether it was worth it.

Not be outdone, here comes George Conway effectively calling Stevens a mental patient. The Party of Women and the Tolerant Left having a banner afternoon.
Bill Kristol accusing a female Member of Congress of having a “breakdown” because she made a political decision he didn’t like. Any wonder why Stevens doesn’t feel welcome in the Democratic Party rn?

Also with new ACS data, Percentage of Population Age 65 and over for the 40 largest MSAs in the US, 2021 and 2025. We actually trailed the Tampa MSA in this metric not too many years ago, but we have shot way past them. But everywhere getting older.

So a CIA agent masquerading as a politician visits Poland and a month later they have a coup. And now she’s threatening a coup in the US. Hmmm. It’s probably nothing.
Last month, Elissa Slotkin brags about how she went to Poland and Hungary and "brought home the playbook to get out of 'authoritarian' governments." WTAF. 🤯 The Deputy Foreign Minister of Poland, Radosław Sikorski is celebrating the globalist coup. Here he is last month alongside Elissa Slotkin. Are you awake yet?!

So, basically, 500 million Europeans expect 300 million Americans to protect them from 120 million Russians who can’t even defeat 40 million Ukrainians while those 500 million Europeans don’t even realize they are being conquered by 2 billion Muslims who claim they are being persecuted by 8 million Israelis. Is that about right? 1

Macklemore wears shirt calling for the release of notorious Palestinian terrorist during his ‘Free Palestine’ concert. The anti-Israel rapper wore a ‘Free Marwan’ t-shirt to call for the release of Palestinian terrorist Marwan Barghouti -who was convicted for orchestrating terror attacks killing 5 people.

Logan Square progressives, I'm sorry you're getting priced out of the neighborhood. I really am, but actions have consequences. Perhaps you shouldn't have voted three times for anti-development @ChicagoDSA aldermen and empowered their friends at @PalenqueLSNA. Although "housing is a human right" may entitle you to a dwelling, it doesn't entitle you to one in Logan Square.
With rents increasing by 40-60 percent, neighbors in Logan Square want to see more protections for renters. buff.ly/heB4EyJ

While Illinois politicians spin PR about "protecting taxpayers," a massive financial clue for the Bears' Hammond stadium just dropped on Wall Street. VICI Properties held its Q3 2026 earnings call, and the transcript connects every dot across the border. 🧵👇

So the White Sox can’t possibly build an entertainment district at 35th Street today, but the Bears can. This is all kabuki theater designed to get taxpayers to foot the bill for new stadiums.
A little stadium news Architecture firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill has unveiled a concept stadium proposal for the Chicago Bears at 35th & Shields, should the White Sox relocate. The vision includes a new stadium, entertainment district, housing, parks, and more. @SOM_Design
