This is what happens when adult authority is systematically undermined.
Have a read of this. A Marxist youth group that joined the Paris protests, which descended into "violence, looting and arson with more than 500 businesses damaged", has published an eight-page guide telling British children how to walk out of school on 20 November. The guide tells pupils to leave in groups of three and four, then "If hundreds walk out, rally on the spot with the megaphone, then march, perhaps to another school or college to call them out too." It even coaches children on how to get around their teachers. If you're "worried your teachers might try to stop you leaving school or college on the day … You can convince others not to go in either: the more of you who stay out, the harder it is for anyone to stop the walkout." This is adults deliberately drawing children away from the people responsible for keeping them safe, and into crowds the Met is already preparing a "robust policing plan" for. That is a safeguarding concern, not a civics lesson. Even more worrying, the NEU executive has passed a motion supporting the protests...

The NHS impact assessment treating compliance with long-standing law as an adverse outcome for one group is ludicrous. The Equality Act has always treated “sex” as binary and biological for the purpose of sex discrimination and the single-sex services exceptions in Schedule 3 (including hospital wards). Those exceptions exist precisely so providers can maintain single-sex spaces for reasons of privacy, dignity and safety without committing unlawful discrimination. The Supreme Court in For Women Scotland Ltd v The Scottish Ministers unanimously held that “man”, “woman” and “sex” in the Act mean biological sex, and that a Gender Recognition Certificate does not change that for Equality Act purposes. Any other reading, the Court said, would make the Act incoherent. Previous NHS guidance explicitly directed placement by gender identity rather than biological sex. That was inconsistent with the statute. The October 2026 guidance simply brings practice into line with what the law has required, while still prioritising clinical needs and offering other alternatives where appropriate. Flagging ordinary operational constraints (room availability, case-by-case decisions) as unique “adverse consequences” for 'trans' patients does not change the legal position or the fact that sex-based protections have always applied equally.

Bills don't get worse in daylight, they get worse when nobody's watching. So we're watching. The Health Bill goes to Lords Committee from 28 October. MPs voted down single-sex wards 106 to 302. The peers are next. We're also tracking the Draft Conversion Practices Bill and the school misogyny plan, so you don't have to. Live trackers 👇 protectandteach.org/publicat…

Exactly. The push to normalise Gender Theory and Queer Theory dissolves biological sex, the nuclear family, and objective truth, so a child cannot clearly distinguish reality from political assertion. Who benefits? The Neo-Marxist ideologues who thrive on permanent deconstruction. A generation that cannot see basic truths is easier to radicalise against every institution that still holds. This is institutional capture in action, not education.

Scotland's declining educational performance demands more than another round of reforms. Lindsay Paterson's latest book raises a fundamental question: has Curriculum for Excellence weakened the place of knowledge in our schools? Read here: bit.ly/sue175fh Can standards recover without restoring it?

Baroness Cass has called for a full independent inquiry into Brighton WellBN Clinic, saying the scandal “dwarfs” the Tavistock. She said “There urgently needs to be an investigation of why every system that should have protected children, young people, and indeed young adults has failed. Clearly it goes beyond NHS Sussex to other regulatory bodies.” thetimes.com/article/cfde7b4…

Utterly glorious. Teaching is hard. @TTRadioOfficial
Here’s the incomparable Dave Allen discussing how to teach your child the time. It’s one of the most perfectly delivered stand up comedy performances of all time. Absolute genius.

NHS England accepted that Dr Sam Hall had "no formal training in gender-identity medicine" but argued that he'd "acquired expertise informally through self-study, experience" and "from talking with other gender specialists." This is what NHSE "accepts" for the treatment of vulnerable children. These children weren't being treated for colds. They were being given life-changing blockers and hormones for feelings that hadn't been explored. Cass is right. This goes much deeper than just one clinic. Full independent inquiry is needed now. Excellent reporting as always from @hannahsbee. thetimes.com/article/cfde7b4…

Agree. Our contribution.
Schools should educate, not indoctrinate. They should encourage disciplined thought, not impose political orthodoxies. Read and share: bit.ly/sueIdeologyMatters Our new booklet, Why Transgender Ideology Matters, examines government overreach, parental authority and the politicisation of Scottish education. #BattleFest

Yesterday my son sat through a class where his teacher told him some people were born in the wrong body so they were the opposite sex or had no sex at all. I wasn’t informed this was part of the school curriculum (although I know it is). In the recent past parents were required to give permission for an adult, often outsourced non teaching staff, to speak to minor children about adult concepts like sexuality and gender identity. This is no longer the case. It is now up to us parents to know what our kids are being taught and by whom. Often kids are scared to tell because they know their parents, or any other reasonable adult, would be horrified and they are afraid of their parent making a scene. We need to reassure those kids that won’t happen so they don’t carry any confusion or anxiety they might be feeling about what they were being taught.

Who decides what our children are taught and who scrutinises those decisions? Having worked in education and safeguarding for many years, I believe these are questions we should always be asking. External organisations do not become exempt from scrutiny simply because their materials promote 'inclusion'. Political impartiality, parental transparency and safeguarding are responsibilities, not optional extras. An important analysis from @ProtectTeach. 👇

Oh really. We will need to see the exact detail on this. @ProtectTeach @JenKteach @PaulSTEandM @OurDutyUK
The rise in antisemitism presents a challenge for all of us. Schools and colleges should be places where young people can discuss difficult issues, challenge prejudice and learn to debate respectfully. These conversations can be complex, but we want to encourage debate. That's why we're backing teachers and school leaders with training, guidance and practical resources, giving them the confidence to lead these discussions well. Schools will not face this challenge alone. In this generational moment we have a real opportunity to challenge antisemitism, build understanding and create more inclusive school communities.

Thank you, Baroness Deech, for pressing the Government on the age at which children can genuinely understand and consent to puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones, and for raising concerns about bone health, fertility, sexual development and brain maturation. How can an 11- or 12-year-old assess long-term risks to bone health, fertility and development? Can a child sufficiently understand and evaluate the potential lifelong consequences of puberty suppression or masculinising and feminising hormones to give genuinely informed consent? The Government's reliance on parental consent, child assent and trial safeguards was beyond disappointing.... These do not answer the fundamental question.
Extraordinary testimony from Baroness Cass yesterday on the profile of children who will be part of the *Puberty Blockers Trial*. Little kids who have been 'socially transitioned' from early childhood. Harmed by their parents - reinforced by the State... @Transgendertrd 1/
