So token numbers to call if program caused distress absolves all our responsibility? Who would suggest that option to a person they cared about? @tuppsmiles @YallopDiana @timheffo @stathistav

Use of antipsychotics in aged-care is tip of iceberg In MHS ‘just shy of dribbling in the corner’ is the default for anyone vulnerable deemed ‘too difficult’ to devote time to complex needs @tuppsmiles @stathistav @criprights Especially ASD kids

This is just one Headspace annual report, reveals self-evaluated via own assessment using selected sample & admits $900/hr per client cost parliament.wa.gov.au/Parliam…
In one of their annual reps, I read &/or calculated that each service cost $300+. Yet, they contract clinicians to bulk bill at $75-$88 per 50+ min service under Better Access, despite the huge additional gov funding they receive. Where does the money go? Not to the clinicians.

A basic failing of any form of therapy is that it is linear, constant, & related to the treatment not the normal recovery that many will experience over time
1/ A basic principle of psychotherapy is that patient experiences ownership of positive change & attributes it to their own efforts/agency—and thereby gains a sense of mastery over symptoms/difficulties. This cannot happen when the cause of change is perceived as external and
