Our Chair, JP Atley, has been campaigning with Becky on this vital issue & passed a motion at our CLP calling on the Council to end the use of bailiffs. He will be meeting with Becky, Cllrs & Officers to discuss the practicalities of ensuring this policy is adopted by the Council
Proud to co-sign this letter with @ACORNunion, trade unions & cross-party MPs and Councillors calling for urgent reform of council tax collection, ending heavy-handed bailiff use & supporting those in debt. Read more here: acorntheunion.org.uk/press-rโฆ
Another brilliant Quays event for the annual Dragon Boat Races. Bringing great cultural events to the Quays doesn't just happen on its own. The support from Salford Council and Salford Labour has been essential to making the Quays a family friendly destination.
Quays Labour Chair John-Paul Atley has today hosted a cross-ward meeting with Deansgate Councillor Anthony McCaul and Salford Hong Kongers CIC to discuss how we can support our Hong Kong community in the Quays and across Greater Manchester.

Wonderful turnout this weekend for another community litter pick in sunny Salford Quays.
#cleanupthequays #salfordquays
Thrilled to be joined by residents from the Salford Quays community on our last litter pick. Together we can make a difference and #cleanupthequays
This was our toughest litter pick yet. Small driftwood outnumbered the litter but we still managed to fish out a door and footstool. Please do join us on our next pick on 23rd March and #cleanupthequays
Join us on Sunday 23rd February for another #cleanupthequays #litterpick. We'll be meeting at the Watersports Centre and tackling the waterfront. All equipment is provided.

Tonight I voted in favour of the Renterโs Rights Bill, the biggest reform to renting in 40+ years.
This will:
โข Ban no-fault evictions
โข Limit upfront rent demands
โข Protect tenants from damp & mould

I'm pleased to support the White Ribbon Day campaign, the day men show their commitment to ending violence against women and girls.

Today is Trans Day of Remembrance where we honour the memory of the trans people tragically lost in acts of anti-trans violence. I stand with trans people today and always.

Thanks to @teltonika for inviting me to open their new UK HQ in Exchange Quays.
Their move shows Salfordโs increasing appeal as a destination for global tech companies, & this investment will support local job growth & help drive our regionโs digital economy forward.
This is a positive step to improve transport links in the Quays and help them get to work or leisure, and shows a commitment to making sure residents can get around Greater Manchester.

Today we remember all those who sacrificed their lives to defend our freedom and democracy, including all those seafarers who lost their lives sailing from Salford Docks.
We will remember them.

@SalfordCCHelp We've been out this morning cleaning Ordsall Park but large patches of shattered glass and fire pits will need a professional hand.
