The campaign of now Senator-elect Annie Andrews received a poll in early October showing her with a three-point lead over Darline Graham.
But the Democrat's campaign decided against publicly releasing the poll — or any subsequent internal poll — showing Andrews with a lead over Graham, wary of drawing too much attention from national Republicans and jeopardizing a peak at the right time.
By the time Republicans noticed, it was too late to turn Graham's campaign around.

Senator-elect Annie Andrews says she has spoken with Sen. Tim Scott.
They spoke earlier today. She says, “There’s a lot we don’t agree on… but we look forward to working together because we both love South Carolina.”
She also says they have plans to meet next week.

This is very smart. Most campaigns would have put the poll out to raise money, but they understood the value of staying off the radar a little longer.
