German police have detained a suspect after a major fire broke out at Adolf Hitler’s former Alpine retreat, the Eagle’s Nest, in Bavaria on Friday night. The building was engulfed in flames, with around 200 emergency personnel deployed. Difficult terrain hampered firefighting efforts, and the blaze was still burning early Saturday. No injuries were reported. Police are investigating whether the suspect was involved in starting the fire.
