My New Book! Like Mysteries?
At Golden Horizon Acres, nobody expects much trouble.
There’s shuffleboard. Karaoke. Golf-cart traffic jams. A suspicious amount of gossip. And an entire building full of people the rest of the world has gotten very good at overlooking.
That turns out to be a mistake.
When eighty-something Rosalie Kepner notices a series of unexplained charges appearing on her bill, everyone treats it like the confusion of an aging woman. But Rosalie spent forty-one years keeping the books at a hardware store. She knows when numbers don’t add up.
And these numbers REALLY don’t add up.
With the help of Frank, a retired accountant; Walter, a locksmith whose hands still work better than his knees; Earl, a hard-of-hearing veteran with absolutely no concept of an indoor voice; Gus, a former NASCAR pit-crew mechanic who can fall asleep almost anywhere; and a collection of residents who are considerably more capable than anyone realizes, Rosalie begins uncovering something much bigger than a few bogus fees.
Soon, a group of retirees who were supposed to be quietly enjoying their golden years are planning what may be the slowest covert operation in criminal history.
The plan isn’t perfect.
Neither are their hips.
But they have something their opponent never counted on:
Nobody is watching them.
Funny, warm, suspenseful, and surprisingly moving, Early Bird Special at Golden Horizon is a story about friendship, grief, second chances, and the strange freedom that comes when the world stops paying attention to you.
Because people may quit seeing you after seventy.
That doesn’t mean you’re finished. Sometimes it means you can finally get away with something.

I LOVE a good quesadilla! Especially CHICKEN! Oh yeah! Spicy chicken, gobs of cheese, MELTY cheese, the kind that stretches three feet when you take a bite and you gotta start winding it around your finger!
Golden brown tortilla, a little crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside. Throw some jalapeños in there and now we’re talking! I want so much cheese in that thing that a cardiologist gets a notification every time I order one.
And don’t bring me one of those skinny quesadillas with three pieces of chicken and a rumor of cheese. I want a quesadilla that requires two hands, six napkins, and a short prayer!
Now I’m hungry just talking about it!
Anybody else LOVE a good quesadilla?
And if quesadillas aren’t your thing, tell me…
What’s the ONE snack you’re sitting there thinking about wanting RIGHT NOW?
Come on, make everybody hungry!
So he had 25 YEARS to become legal. Oh well. Don’t blame ICE, It’s all his fault.
A Texas father who had lived in the U.S. for 25 years with no criminal record was finishing his night shift as an Uber driver when immigration agents detained him.
Without being able to speak to his lawyer or a judge, he was put on a plane and sent first to Ghana, a country where he had no ties. He was then sent to his home country, despite a determination by a U.S. immigration court judge that he could not be deported there due to likely persecution. cbsn.ws/3Ude66r
Liberals love saying, "It takes a village to raise a child." Have you SEEN the village lately? Half of them need supervision, and the other half are filming themselves crying in their cars
The career equivalent of putting a gun in your mouth
Remember when "going for a drive" was the actual plan?
You didn't have a GPS telling you to turn left in 500 feet—you just had a paper map that nobody could fold back up and a gas tank you could fill for ten bucks.
You’d roll the windows down (by hand!) and just see where the road took you. No satellite radio, no cell phones, just the sound of the wind and whatever was playing on the local AM station.
I’m curious... what was the first cassette tape or record you ever bought with your own money? 🎶📻

I want to start a liberal airline. Everybody gets a first-class ticket, nobody has to pay, and the plane never takes off because the pilots are arguing over which bathroom to use.

FYI
You don't get to burn down somebody's business, attack a police officer, or threaten your neighbors just because your side didn't get its way.
The media won’t say it, and the government won’t say it but I will…. France will be in a full-blown civil war within the next few weeks.
🇫🇷 France's protests are turning into something MUCH BIGGER than a weekend of unrest.
Huge crowds are flooding the streets over soaring living costs and concerns about democracy.
In Paris alone, police counted 110,000 demonstrators.
And the movement isn't winding down.
Protest organizers are already building toward a nationwide GENERAL STRIKE on November 5.
What started as street protests is becoming a sustained challenge to the French government.

20 YEARS AGO! At the legendary Grizzly Rose in Denver.
Hard to believe it’s been 20 years since Taylor Swift released her very first album, and we had the opportunity to open for her at her first Denver appearance.
Who knew what an incredible journey was just beginning?
Time flies, folks. One minute you’re making memories, and the next minute you’re looking back at them 20 years later.
Enjoy every moment of every day. You never know which ones you’ll still be talking about two decades from now.
What a ride!
