While I’m excited to start Syracuse hate week, I wanted to take a second to recognize a Syracuse alum who tragically lost his life earlier this year.
Rex Culpepper was a Syracuse QB, cancer survivor, and lived life to the fullest. He was a phenomenal athlete and had a heart of gold. On my first day at a new high school, it was Rex who made me feel most welcome and went out of his way to make sure I had someone to sit next to at lunch - a gesture I have never forgotten.
His parents, Brad and Monica, set up a scholarship fund earlier this year to honor his legacy: educationfoundation.com/get-…

A reminder that 25-year-old USMNT and Derby County striker Patrick Agyemang has one of the most incredible stories in American soccer.
▫️ Born in East Hartford, Connecticut to Ghanaian parents
▫️ Never played for an MLS academy
▫️ Played high school soccer and was named all-conference in 2017
▫️ Played club soccer for Hartford Hellions Soccer Club in addition to high school soccer
▫️ In 2018, played Division III college soccer at Eastern Connecticut University
▫️ In 2020, transferred to the University of Rhode Island
▫️ Drafted 12th by Charlotte FC in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft
▫️ Got his first-ever USMNT call up in 2025, and scored on his debut
▫️ In July 2025, moves to English Championship side Derby County for a Charlotte FC reported club-record fee around $8M
▫️ Reaches double-digit goals across all competitions for Derby in his first-ever season in the English Championship. One of the signings of the season
What a journey 🇺🇸👏
