I wish I could go back to one ordinary Sunday in 1985. Dad watching television, Mom making dinner, everyone still young, everyone still here. I wouldn't change a thing. I'd just stay longer.

We need to talk more about what Gen X and older millennials have been through financially. They survived the 2008 recession, spent years rebuilding, got hit by a pandemic, and then watched housing, groceries, insurance, and everyday expenses become increasingly unaffordable. Now it’s 2026, and people in their 40s and 50s are trying to save for retirement while still catching up on financial milestones they expected to reach a decade ago. At some point, we have to acknowledge that an entire generation has spent much of its adult life recovering from one economic crisis after another.

I better not find any of these farmers I’m bailing out buying candy, sodas, steaks, cell phones or nice cars.

So, the former guy rolls into Georgia, supposedly to help other Republicans, and there he is, essentially high-fiving himself over sky-high gas prices because American oil companies are raking in amounts he boasted were hundreds of billions, even trillions of dollars. Never mind that regular folks are struggling to fill their tanks; the real win, apparently, is corporate profit margins so enormous they make a whale look skinny. He even admits his own advisors warned him not to mention it, knowing full well it sounds terrible to everyday Americans feeling the pinch, but naturally, he ignored them. That’s classic MAGA priorities: your pain is just background noise to his rich corporate friends getting richer, which he somehow spins as a national win. The claim our country is making untold trillions from oil in places like Greenland or Venezuela, while gas prices gut family budgets, just proves he’s utterly clueless, or deliberately fabricating, who actually benefits from these record profits. heatherdelaneyreese.com/p/do…
Sure they’re not, just happened to book the two biggest gop goons accidentally, without their knowledge, etc. 😉

“Bald-faced fabrications” used to just be called lies, when I was a kid.
Trump swaggered into Georgia right before the midterms, breathlessly announcing a huge new Audi factory, a massive win for the state he claimed. Here's the receipt: Audi had absolutely no such announcement, no plans to build a plant in Georgia, and no knowledge of this supposed commitment. This wasn't just campaign exaggeration; it was a bald-faced fabrication, invented out of thin air just days before an election, banking on voters not checking if a major international corporation actually agreed to a multi-billion dollar investment during a political rally. It perfectly illustrates how quickly reality gets benched for a headline grab, promising prosperity that only exists in a speech bubble, all while the people who supposedly value "truth" never question the actual facts. thehill.com/homenews/state-w…
Good. Fuck him, fuck them. Look over your shoulder forever, prick.
A one-stoplight TX town got in bed with ICE for $$ and started pulling over every other car and detaining Hispanics. 10% of the town is gone now, and businesses are struggling. The town cop has to look over his shoulder in public now.

Haynes is critical of Arab owned businesses in Detroit: “I know some good Arabs, my issue is with (El-Sayed). He knows what his community has done. They own all the gas stations, now they’re buying soul food restaurants. Everything is in a Black, urban community.”
