What we hear are the echos of thunder, what we see are the lingering flashes of lightning, what we feel coursing through our veins are the winding rivers, and what we speak is the falling rain, infinitely broken and transformed from fractal through fractal for eternities on end.

Guy Debord argued that modern life was increasingly being replaced by representations of itself. In 1994, he died by suicide. David Foster Wallace proposed sincerity as an escape from recursive irony. In 2008, he died by suicide. Mark Fisher wrote about the ghosts of futures that never arrived. In 2017, he died by suicide. Now it is our turn to solve postmodernism.

Oh, you're worried about a Jewish guy's apocalyptic cult? You're scandalized that they consort with prostitutes? You think their message of compassion for everyone threatens normal bonds of family, community, and nation? Should we throw you a party? Should we invite Pontius Pilate?

Everyone knows the mitochondria is the "powerhouse of the cell." But have you seen how beautifully its movement was captured by Dr. Patrick C. Hickey in this 5th place #SmallWorldInMotion winning video? 🏆 Now you have! bit.ly/3TgEWKn

Severely autistic, non-verbal 4yo child is given high-dose folate (leucovorin) - Gains speech in the first week and learns to walk - Can speak 100 words after 1 year, maintains eye contact and physically active - When he misses a dose, he relapses This treatment is insane Testimonial from a follower
Up to 76% of children with autism may actually have an autoimmune disorder which blocks uptake of folate into the brain, leading to a cerebral deficiency Autistic children were 19 times more likely to test positive for folate receptor alpha antibodies, which bind with and block folate receptors at the blood-brain-barrier These children had normal blood results, but very low levels in cerebrospinal fluid Treatment with a specialized folate supplement, calcium folinate/folinic acid (aka Leucovorin), led to improvement in ~65% of autistic children studied Standard testing is useless because blood levels of folate show up as normal, but the brain is deficient Ordinary folate supplements (folic acid, methylfolate) are ineffective because their transport system is blocked Calcium folinate, on the other hand, works by penetrating the brain via alternative transporters (reduced folate carriers) to effectively restore folate levels However it must be taken in extremely high doses to achieve this effect. Leading physicians are using approx. 2mg/kg body weight. Refs: PMID: 38392599 PMID: 38248763 PMID: 34834493 PMID: 32892962

The printing press led pretty directly to tens of millions of deaths within a generation of its diffusion across Europe. Germany's population dropped 50% by the end of the 30 Years War.

American and British cars each have their advantages. For example, it’s easier to play the flute while driving in American cars, but easier to play guitar while driving in British cars.

It's impossible to actually understand how an LLM works and genuinely believe it's conscious. It's a bunch of vectors and multiplication. That's literally it. "We don't know what they're doing" lmfao yes, yes we do.

🇸🇦 A Village Built on a Rock in Saudi Arabia. High in the Asir region, this old stone village sits on a smooth rock more than 700 meters above sea level. It once had around 15 stone houses, an old mosque and a water well, surrounded by agricultural terraces. The village was eventually abandoned in the 1970s.

the third question only became possible to ask after the advent of monotheism, before that it was obvious: gods are endlessly competing with each other and divinely caused agony happened depending on who was winning or who was really pissed off.
