The thing about Google clearing a forest in Finland without permits is that they decided that whatever fine they might face is worth it. It doesn’t cost them as much as not getting the land cleared.
Because like ALL things, if the punishment is a fine, it isn’t really illegal for rich people.

Apparently this cutting of over 32,000 trees on 233 ha in Bhimashankar forest near Pune is just first tranche of total three. Means around 90,000 to one lakh total trees will be cut. N indefinite number of species will be killed.
MH govt without consulting with us, citizens, cutting pristine forest over 600 ha that is 1500 acres which is 2-4 villages in Bhimashankar forest which is reserved area n vicinity to Pune.
Destroying western ghats is nothing but murder of its citizens by state govt led by bjp.
People in n around Pune need to come on streets against this brutality.

Planting new trees doesn’t magically undo the destruction of an entire ecosystem. You cannot replace centuries of biodiversity with a few saplings. Companies that destroy our natural resources should face severe penalties, including permanent closure when warranted. We’ve reached a point where protecting the planet is treated as optional, and that needs to change.

What makes Ashoke Sen such a rockstar is not just his brilliant mind - but also the fact that he does not take the easy way out.
🚨 Could have stayed in America and taken US citizenship - chose to do cutting edge research in India
🚨 Could have lived an easy life with earlier $3 million prize - chose to give away a large part of it
🚨 Could have stayed quiet & blind on sensitive issues - chose to speak up on beef related lynchings.
/
🚨 Here's to Ashoke Sen for becoming the first Indian to win the prestigious Oskar Klein medal, one of the highest honours in theoretical physics. We need more national heros like him.

On Ian Bishop's birthday ~
I keep coming back to this ball to Anwar in 1990. This was Bishop before the injuries. To make the ball do this in sub-continent was just crazy.
Imagine the fast bowler we could've had in Bish had those injuries not happened!

As a part of the MoS award, he won an assortment of luxury Titan watches (probably the only time ive seen in cricket). Another memory of him was his unplayable ball to Jadeja which broke the stump and producer jokingly said he'd send the bill of the broken stump cam to Donald!

Huge redemption arc in getting out to Murali in a WC knockout for a duck, have folks burn effigies and write obituaries for your career, and then very specifically promote yourself in a WC final to tackle Murali and win the WC.

An emotional Harman tears up during the innings break interview after her 91*
This while looking back on her knock.
Emphasised multiple times on wanting to enjoy herself while batting. Lovely moment when she thanked WV Raman too.
Interview ended prematurely. Understandably.
