Representative of Missouri’s 83rd House District. A Gen-Z democrat working to bring others up.

Last night, Vice President @KamalaHarris lifted our spirits, calling us during our sit-in on the Missouri House floor and sending pizza to keep us going. ❤️ As we stand against an unconstitutional redistricting scheme, her support is a reminder that the struggle for democracy is bigger than any one moment, and that together, we can rise to it.

VP @KamalaHarris: For the last year and a half, we have been pissed. We've been depressed, angry, frustrated, feeling alone, hopeless, powerless. That phase where we felt hopeless and powerless is over. The Founders imagined a moment where there would be a tyrant in office, and they created 3 branches of government where there would be checks and balances.

It’s great to be back in Springfield, MO canvassing for our democratic candidates! Greene County is ground zero for Missouri Democrats and the path to breaking the republican supermajority runs straight through Springfield. There are no guarantees this November. Democrats have an opportunity to deliver on something that people can see, touch, and feel in this election. Wherever you are, make your plan to vote by Tuesday, November 3rd! 🗳️

The Dem campaigns and committees have run circles around the GOP this cycle
In #OHSen, Republicans account for 63% of aired broadcast spending but just 51% of broadcast airings. In #TXSen, Republicans have outspent Democrats by $82.3M on broadcast ads but account for only 58% of airings. See how broadcast ad spending and airings compare 🔽

Why are so many people saying what VP Harris shouldn't do? Are they worried about her? I believe the primary voters especially will be crystal clear about whom they do not want. I think the lesson of 2024 is we shouldn't be speaking for the primary voters and should let them speak for themselves.

It is a basic principle of American democracy that the government can’t selectively target individuals simply because of their political beliefs or what they say. But that’s exactly what the Trump Administration is doing to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota. To understand why this is so appalling, it’s important to know the facts. Congresswoman Omar came to this country with her father when she was 12 years old. Five years later, her father became a naturalized citizen. If Ilhan had been 18 at the time, she would have had to apply for citizenship separately. But because she was 17, she became a naturalized citizen automatically. Congresswoman Omar went on to graduate from college, work as a community organizer, become the first Somali-American legislator elected to public office in the U.S., and win a seat in Congress. There, she has been one of the Trump Administration’s fiercest critics, which has led the president to repeatedly single her out as someone who he believes does not belong in this country. Now the Administration is actively trying to deport Congresswoman Omar, seemingly based solely on the unsubstantiated theory that she was actually 18 when her father was naturalized, and therefore is not a citizen. Federal agents have raided her home, confiscated personal records, and seized her phone — all to try and uncover a nonexistent smoking gun from 20 years ago that will somehow make their case. Think about that. The full weight of the federal government is being brought down on a law-abiding elected official because she has dared to criticize the president. And it’s not the first time this has happened. Under President Trump, the Justice Department has repeatedly gone after those he considers his political enemies — from the Attorney General of New York, to the former head of the FBI, to members of the Federal Reserve. In those cases, the prosecutions either stalled or were dismissed for having no basis in law, and the same is likely to happen in this case. But not before Congresswoman Omar’s life has been turned upside down, her legal bills have piled up, and she’s been forced to spend time fighting unsubstantiated charges instead of serving the people of Minnesota. The fact that any president, or any administration, is willing to engage in such transparent efforts to intimidate someone should outrage all Americans, regardless of how they feel about Congresswoman Omar’s political views. Because if this becomes the new normal, there’s no reason to believe it will stop with her — or that future presidents, in either party, won’t do the same.

My advice to folks running for president or thinking about it… focus on YOU. Make the case for yourself. Tell folks why you should lead. I have no favorites. I’ll be a goodwill ambassador for our party. But let me be clear… @KamalaHarris has earned the right to do whatever the hell she wants to do regarding 2028. Make your case. Let her make her decision. And to the journalists… can y’all pause on this… damn!
New: At our live taping with @ElissaSlotkin, a student asked if Democrats were making the same mistake with Kamala Harris in 2028 as they made with President Biden in 2024 — and more people should publicly say they don’t want the former VP to run So I asked the Michigan Senator if Harris is compatible with her call for fresh faces and new ideas Her answer: No

I feel like getting into trouble today. Purity testing is going to be the death of the Democratic Party. And frankly, single-issue voting is a terrible way to approach politics. You can hold politicians accountable without demanding 100% ideological alignment. If disagreement on one issue makes someone your enemy, coalition-building becomes impossible.

People are tired of having to choose between gas and groceries, because both are too expensive thanks to Donald Trump’s war in Iran. They are tired of stretching to pay for rent and for daycare and for health care, when the cost of each is climbing but the paycheck has not budged. They are tired of Donald Trump’s lies. They are tired of his cruelty. And they are ready to stop him.

Donald Trump and his war in Iran are to blame for our nation's sky-high diesel and gas prices. His latest ploy—buying fuel from his friend Vladimir Putin—reeks of weakness and will help pay for Russia’s war but will do nothing to make life more affordable for American families. The American people deserve a leader who cares about them, and the Ukrainian people deserve allies who will stand by their side in the fight for a free, democratic, and independent nation.
