Just giving kids packets to complete at home is not remote learning.

This would be so amazing!!
Today's the day! 🦍📽️ The @IvanMovie is now streaming on @disneyplus. To celebrate, I'm giving away a classroom set of 24 IVAN paperbacks (w/ signed bookplates!) to a US educator who RTs this. I'll notify a random winner on 8/24 at 2 PM PT. Good luck, and enjoy the film! ❤️
Smart!
Strongly suggest teachers leave their asynchronous assignment due dates through the weekend instead of a Friday due date. Parents might only be able to help on weekends and kids need time to internalize the habit of managing and completing offline work.

Things I want the community to understand: 1. I love your child. I will teach them, no matter what. 2. I didn’t have a say in whether we went face to face, hybrid, or virtual. 3. I work countless hours to make instruction happen. 4. This is new to me, too.

1 of 2 Fluency Friday! Here's a followup lesson to Wednesday's Word Ladder - "Hot Dog" Have your student rehearse (rptd rdg) this poem by the great Shel S. & perform it for an audience (e.g. grandma, siblings, etc.). Then do some word study of words from the poem. Enjoy!

If you’re a teacher getting anxious from posts of others setting-up virtually for the start of the school year w/ DL,take a breath, embrace your break guilt-free, focus on fam, health and being as recharged as you can for reopening.Your self-care is also key prep for your students

26 million people work from home at least part time and we think it’s being savvy. 3 million Teachers have to do it during a pandemic and people want their pay cut since they think they’re not working. Teachers sure do put up with a lot of crap just to educate our youth.
