Some stuff went down at Spirit of Halloween.
The guy is casually filming with the cute “WELCOME TO SPIRIT HALLOWEEN 🎃” overlay while a woman in the background is going full nuclear in the manager’s face: “Fck you b!tch,” “I ain’t begging you to get off work,” “What you gonna do?” “I steal a lot of shit.”
He keeps trying to get away and she follows him until she finally leaves. He’s looking completely oblivious the whole time. Customers with their kids are clearly appalled, but nobody is stepping up.
If you were the manager, would you stand there and take it like he did? If you were a customer, would you have minded your own business or have spoken up?

82 years ago today, at dawn, a voice on the radio said "a major portion" of the Japanese fleet was 15 miles behind them. The captain's answer was to turn and attack.
October 25, 1944. Off the island of Samar in the Philippines. A small American group called "Taffy 3" (six slow escort carriers, a handful of destroyers and destroyer escorts) was guarding the troops MacArthur had just landed at Leyte. The big American battleships were far away, chasing a decoy.
Then four Japanese battleships, eight cruisers and 11 destroyers came over the horizon. One of those battleships was Yamato, the largest ever built.
Commander Ernest Evans of the destroyer USS Johnston didn't wait for orders. He made smoke to hide the carriers, ordered every boiler lit, and drove straight at the enemy. Johnston closed to under 10,000 yards and fired a spread of torpedoes that blew the bow off the heavy cruiser Kumano.
Then the shells found Johnston. Evans was badly wounded. With power and steering knocked out, he moved to the stern and shouted rudder orders down an open hatch to sailors steering by hand. Out of torpedoes, he kept charging anyway, at one point ordering his crew to fire on a cruiser to "draw her fire on us and away from Gambier Bay."
After more than two hours of fighting, Johnston lay dead in the water, surrounded. Of 327 men aboard, 141 survived. Evans was never seen again. But the Japanese force turned back, and the landing beaches were saved.
Evans was awarded the Medal of Honor, posthumously. The Navy's own history notes his mother was full-blooded Cherokee and his father part Creek. He was a Native American kid from Pawnee, Oklahoma, who joined as an enlisted sailor and earned his way into the Naval Academy.
Would you have turned toward the battleships?

No one is above the law. The American people are demanding real accountability from those who abused their positions and undermined our nation.

A woman leaves a bowl of Halloween candy outside for the neighborhood kids, trusting them to take a few pieces and leave some for everyone else.
Instead, a group comes along and grabs everything.
I know they’re kids, and kids do stupid things. But there’s a difference between having fun on Halloween and being disrespectful.
Someone was nice enough to spend their own money so children could enjoy Halloween. Now the kids who come afterward get nothing.
Halloween is supposed to be about having fun, not seeing how much free candy you can walk away with.
A little respect and consideration for others shouldn’t be too much to ask

This is the tragic story of Skyler Neese . She’s pictured on the right .
On July 6, 2012, 16-year-old Skylar Neese snuck out of her bedroom window in Star City, West Virginia, to meet her two best friends, Shelia Eddy and Rachel Shoaf.
She never returned home .
As a search continued, Shelia and Rachel pretended they knew nothing. They helped maintain the appearance of concern, while Shelia continued posting about Skylar on social media.
Later they both confessed to stabbing Skylar to death because “they no longer liked her”
They admitted she plead for her life .
Rachael confessed and led police to Skylar’s remains .
Eventually both girls plead guilty.
Shelia received a life sentence while Rachael received 30 years .
I know psychopaths exist in this world, but it’s very odd to me to have two out of a group of three. I have to wonder how both these girls were raised if at all.?

A woman at Kentucky Fried Chicken starts throwing things and verbally abusing employees.
It’s bad enough that employees have to deal with this behavior, but what about the customers? Parents sitting there with their children, families trying to enjoy a meal, suddenly having to witness someone completely lose control.
Imagine taking your kids out for a quick bite and having to worry about something being thrown in their direction.
These employees don’t deserve this abuse, and neither do the customers.
Once someone starts throwing things and creating a potentially dangerous situation, it’s no longer just bad behavior. It’s time to remove them from the restaurant and let the police handle it.

Good Sunday morning, 𝕏 friends!
There's a particular kind of quiet on a Sunday morning in America. Porch lights clicking off, church bells starting up somewhere down the road, and a neighbor waving while he waters the lawn. Nothing about it makes the news, and it's exactly what makes this country worth defending.
With the midterms just nine days away, I'm reminding myself what we're really voting for: safe streets, strong families, honest elections, and the freedom to raise our kids the way we see fit. Those aren't slogans to me. They're what I want my grandkids to inherit.
So take a breath, say thank you for what you have, and then check on someone who could use a friend today. Have a great Sunday. 🇺🇸

Good Sunday X 🙏
This week, instead of continuing with the next movement in the Chen-style Hunyuan 48 form, I wanted to take a break from the form itself and talk about something just as important.
If you want to develop the internal side of Tai Chi, it is not enough to only learn the movements. You also have to understand how to build the structure, breathing, relaxation, awareness and connection that make those movements work from the inside.
Standing meditation can look like the simplest part of Tai Chi.
You’re just standing there.
But internally, a lot is happening.
Embracing Tree, or Zhan Zhuang, teaches you to find structure without stiffness. The crown gently lifts, the shoulders and elbows release, the chest stays relaxed, the kua softens, the knees remain comfortably bent, and the weight settles evenly through the feet.
Grandmaster Feng Zhiqiang placed enormous importance on standing practice. He taught that the principles developed while standing should eventually be present inside the moving form. The stillness gives you time to feel where you are holding unnecessary tension, where your structure breaks, and whether the body is actually connected from the ground up.
Breathing is just as important.
Feng emphasized that the breath should remain natural and never be forced or held. As the body becomes quieter, the breath can become longer, softer and finer.
I like to think of it as breathing a strand of silk.
The inhale is so fine and quiet that you could imagine drawing in a single strand without breaking it. The exhale leaves the same way, smooth, delicate and continuous. No gulping for air. No pushing the breath out. Nothing forced.
The mind settles lightly around the lower dantian while the body relaxes without collapsing.
Over time, that stillness begins to show up when you move. The structure you discovered while standing remains during the form. The breath stays quiet. The body becomes more connected, and the movements begin to come from the inside instead of simply being shapes made with the arms and legs.
Feng taught, “练拳就是练桩功,练桩功就是练拳.”
Practicing the form is practicing standing. Practicing standing is practicing the form.
That is why standing meditation is not something separate from Tai Chi.
It is part of the foundation that makes the moving form come alive.
