🚨 Gary Neville on Andoni Iraola’s incredible start in the Premier League with Liverpool: 🎙️ Interviewer: “Gary, Liverpool are fourth after eight matches with 15 points, six behind Manchester City. Iraola hasn’t exactly been perfect since replacing Arne Slot, but yesterday’s 2–0 win over Brighton looked significant. What do you make of his start? Gary Neville: “I’ll be honest, I’m not going to sit here and tell you Iraola has transformed Liverpool into a perfect team. They still have problems. They’ve dropped points, they’ve had performances that haven’t convinced me, and there’s plenty of work to do” “But let’s remember what he walked into. Liverpool weren’t playing with the confidence or consistency you’d expect from a team fighting for the title. He inherited a side that needed rebuilding mentally as much as tactically, and people expected him to fix everything overnight” “Now they’re fourth, six points off the top after eight games, and they’ve just beaten Brighton 2–0. Is it spectacular? No. Is it enough to make me take them seriously? Absolutely” “And look at the attacking players. Isak is getting on the scoresheet, Barcola is bringing pace and unpredictability, and Wirtz is beginning to show why Liverpool invested so heavily in him. When those three start delivering consistently, Liverpool become a very different proposition” “Here’s the mistake rival fans keep making: they judge Liverpool by where they are today and assume that’s where they’ll finish. It’s October! Six points is not a title-race funeral. It’s barely the beginning of the argument” “I still have questions about Iraola. Can he make this team consistent? Can he get Liverpool through the difficult winter period? Can he beat the other title contenders when the pressure really arrives? Those are the questions he must answer” “But writing Liverpool off already? That’s foolish. They’ve got too much quality, too much experience and too many players capable of winning games out of nothing” “I wouldn’t put my house on Liverpool winning the league today, but I certainly wouldn’t bet against them being right in the conversation come May. And if they go on a run now, all those people laughing at Iraola will suddenly pretend they saw it coming.” Interviewer: “So you’re saying Liverpool could still win the title? Gary Neville: “I’m saying there’s a difference between believing Liverpool will win the title and being foolish enough to think they cannot. Right now, I’m not convinced they’ll win it. But I’m certainly not writing them off.”

🚨 Wayne Rooney — Suspend Bruno Fernandez and give carrick time. 🗣️ “If I were Carrick, I would seriously consider suspending Bruno Fernandes indefinitely for publicly criticising his manager and showing no remorse on the bench while his team were losing. “You’re Manchester United’s captain. You should be leading by example, not undermining your manager. I just hope the owners don’t sack Carrick to protect the bigger problems at this club. “INEOS cannot keep neglecting the squad, changing managers and expecting miracles. Injuries have exposed the lack of depth, and another managerial sacking will not fix that. “I pray the owners give Carrick time. Manchester United cannot keep sacrificing managers while protecting the people responsible for the club’s problems.”

🚨 Ronald Araujo on the viral video of him clearing the ball with his head against Brighton. Reporter🗣️: There’s a clip going around of you clearing the ball with your head from a long way out during that scramble. What was going through your mind? Araujo🗣️: “I didn’t even realise it looked like that until I saw the video after the game. In the moment the ball was just there and Brighton were pushing, so I had to get it away however I could. My first instinct was to head it clear before anyone could get a shot away. “Everything was happening so fast. Players were falling around me and the goalkeeper was coming out, so I just went for it. I knew if I didn’t get a good connection on it they could’ve scored, so I made sure I got enough on the header to send it out of the danger area. “It’s funny seeing it go viral now because at the time I was just doing my job. I didn’t think it was anything special, I just wanted to protect the goal. As long as it stayed out, that was all that mattered to me.”

🚨 Pepe on who deserves the Ballon d’Or: “Everyone knows I’m a huge Cristiano Ronaldo fan. I’ve never hidden that. Cristiano is someone I admire, and nobody can take that away from me. “But when you talk about Lionel Messi, especially after what he did at the World Cup, you have to put your personal feelings aside. Messi winning the World Cup at 39 years old is something that cannot be forgotten. The way he carried Argentina, the responsibility he took, the moments he delivered when his country needed him most… that was something special. “And honestly, I think the only reason some people won't give Messi the Ballon d’Or is because he's 39. They look at his age before they look at his football. If he was 25 and producing those same performances, I don't think there would be this much debate. “People have become so obsessed with the next generation that they forget greatness doesn't disappear because a player gets older. Messi has already won everything, but he's still out there proving he can compete at the highest level. “I love Ronaldo, but football is about being honest. If you ask me who deserves the Ballon d’Or after that World Cup, I have to say Messi. “Sometimes you support a player with your heart, but you also have to respect what you see with your eyes. And what Messi did at 39? That is history. You don't punish a man for his age when he's still playing football like that.”

Rodri on Facing Arda Guler in the midfield Vs Real Madrid. Reporter🗣️: We saw you holding back Arda Guler jersey during the game, so do you mind telling us your experience after facing this young kid. Rodri🗣️: Of course it has been a long while I face a difficult opponent like that in the midfield, I’m not use to praising players who doesn’t play for my team but this experience was different for me.” “He had me running all game like like never before, sometimes other player slow the game and you have some rest before chasing them again but Guler tonight carry every ball to the front of the box, and you know we can’t sit back and watch drive through our defense.” It got to a point that I’ve to hold him back to slow the movement of the game, he was the main reason for their pressing attack in the second half of the game, this reminds me of myself in my early twenties.”

One day, I want to experience a Ballon d’Or night where a Chelsea player is genuinely one of the favourites to win it. We’ve had legends wear this badge but I want to see one of our own take that award home.

🚨Fabian Hurzeler reacts to Liverpool 2-0 win over his side Brighton. Reporter🗣️: Do you mind telling us your feeling after this defeat at Liverpool and your thoughts about the game. Fabian Hurzeler🗣️: Defeats like this feed you a lot of experience and you learn from them, before coming to Anfield we know what this place is all about, the intensity of the match left the players wondering what is going on.” “the way Liverpool start to the game was very difficult for me to come out with a tactical idea for my side, the way they press and creat chances in the game left me confused.” But it’s a game of football, Andoni is a special manager that I’ve to Admit it myself to him after the final whistle.” Reporter🗣️: Do mind telling us what you told him after the game.? Hurzeler🗣️: I told him What a game of football he had me experience today without my solution. And he asked me do I learn from that? And replied back Yes, He then said that’s all it takes to get from us today.” I know they could do anything for the win because they have the quality all over the team.

🚨Camavinga reveal what kylian Mbappe told him after the 2-1 victory over Barcelona. Reporter🗣️: We saw you after full time with Kylian Mbappe, Do you mind telling us what he told after the game. Camavinga🗣️: After the final whistle I think I was the first person he run to, hug me then then he said, I’m giving every possible credit to you for being the main character of this victory tonight Cama.” “he added that how do I even make that run to assist him in that position because it looks impossible to get to that position as defensive midfielder in the die minute.” “I just smiled and tell him that’s why we’re a team and we make decisions and take risk to get a better result in games, before I was to come IN I saw that everyone has tired legs and don’t press with the ball, Infact both teams wanted the game over with that draw but I had different intentions towards the game.” I tell my self I will press and make runs in the middle of the pitch since they’re tired and you can see how poorly Pau Curbasi came in there before I deliver the ball to Kylian Mbappe.” “It always feels special winning an El Classico especially away from home, Registering an assist as well to help secure the victory in the die minutes of the game feels more better than anything.”

🚨 José Mourinho explains his decision to bench Trent Alexander-Arnold for El Clásico: 🎙️ Interviewer: “José, Trent Alexander-Arnold was left on the bench for the Clásico, while Federico Valverde played at right-back. Was that purely tactical, or are you losing confidence in Trent? Mourinho: “Let me be very clear: I don’t select players because of their reputation. I select players because I trust what they will give me when the game becomes difficult” “Trent has incredible passing ability. Nobody is questioning that. But tell me something: what is the value of a beautiful pass if, five minutes later, your opponent attacks the space you have left behind? At this level, one defensive mistake can destroy 90 minutes of good football” “Against Barcelona, I wanted a right-back who would defend first, win his duels, recover quickly and understand when to take risks. Valverde gives me that intensity. He can run, press, cover the centre and still contribute going forward. I don’t need my right-back to be the most creative player on the pitch if he becomes the opponent’s easiest route to goal” “And if you ask me about Dumfries, he also brings physicality and direct running. These are different profiles, but the question is simple: who gives the team the best balance against this opponent? “Trent must understand something. At Real Madrid, nobody owns a position. Not because of your name, not because of your transfer fee, and certainly not because of what you did at another club. “If I have to choose between a world-class passer and a player I trust to protect my goal in the biggest game, I will choose the player who protects my goal. Every time. “Does Trent have a future here? That depends on Trent. He can improve the defensive side of his game and fight for his place, or he can watch other players take it. The badge will still be here. The starting position might not be.”
