Honestly @macklemore’s “Hind’s Hall” is the most Rage Against The Machine song since Rage Against The Machine.

A VERY necessary thread
A #Eurovision2024 thread: Ireland boycotting @Eurovision wouldn’t cause @EBU_HQ to lose much sleep. Ireland hasn’t been in the final since 2018. If Ireland & some of the 8 other participants who signed a joint statement in March made a meaningful stand, this wud have an impact.

Interesting post - even just to highlight the disgraceful lack of support for Irish music on commercial radio. Doomsday Blues is brilliant. According to this Today FM haven’t played it once. That doesn’t surprise me. That station used to show great support for Irish artists.
Ireland’s @Eurovision entry has never been played by some of our largest radio stations. @RTERadio1 played it 4 times. @RTE2fm predominantly play it at 1AM. @Bambiethug stands with RTÉ & @EBU_HQ, but do they stand with & support Bambie Thug?#Eurovision2024 hotpress.com/opinion/why-are…

Ireland’s Eurovision entry ‘Doomsday Blue’ has been receiving only grudging support from the national broadcaster. And there seems to be a wider promotional failure, too. So what is going on in Montrose? – asks Mark Graham (@IreMusPod)

It's well written, to the point and any sane, reasonable person who cares, wouldn't disagree.

What has happened to humanity?
In Gaza, "every person, the first thing they want to tell me in English or Arabic is 'We need food,’" says @UNICEF spokesperson @1james_elder. "They are saying that because their assumption is the world doesn’t know, because how would this be allowed to happen if the world knew?"
UNICEF on Israel restricting aid to northern Gaza
UNICEF's James Elder' describes a "man-made" crisis acute malnutrition that could be ended if Israel opened access to more aid, especially in northern Gaza where people could be reached in 10 minutes.

Eurovision is the biggest music event on the planet with an audience of 163 million. It birthed ABBA, Riverdance & Celine Dione. Love it or loathe it, it has impacted or cultural, social, economic & political landscape. It’s facing a crisis #Eurovision2024 hotpress.com/opinion/israel-…

As Irish artists boycott SXSW, the pressure is growing on this year’s Irish Eurovision hopeful, Bambie Thug, to have the courage of their political convictions.
Or might the EBU do a U-turn and render any further boycott unnecessary?

1. No need to wonder why Govt rejected Citizens Assembly wording - they don't believe it is the legal responsibility of State to provide care. Leo is SO privileged to say he can provide care, home & education to his family members - that is his yardstick for care.
