I joined Colonel Eric Swenson, New York District Commander of the US Army Corps of Engineers to meet with Mayor Mamdani about the East Shore Seawall and what is needed to streamline construction of the project. Work on first phase drainage is expected to resume shortly, wall design is now complete and the City just signed an agreement with the National Parks Service to assume the cost for the remediation in Great Kills Park, an important agreement that we pushed for.

This past year, 250 more American soldiers from WWII, the Korean War & the Vietnam War were accounted for including U.S. Army Air Forces Staff Sergeant Nicholas J. Governale of Brooklyn whose remains were repatriated in April, 83 years after his plane crashed during WWII. We must never give up until every service member comes home.
