Fisher-Price accidentally made the ultimate gaming controller. I just unlocked it. 💀🎮
I turned a literal baby toy into a fully functional Nintendo Switch 2 controller using a Nordic nRF52840 to emulate a Switch 2 Pro Controller over Bluetooth LE.
Yes, you can actually game with this thing. 🍼🔥

“PS5 launched at $399 5 years ago. Today the Steam Machine is slightly slower, but has 2.5x price tag.”
Yes. A base PS5 went from $399 to $599 in 6 years.
We have never seen this in 40 years of video games. As gamedevs we have to take this into account. Target 2020 hardware.
We gamers got extremely lucky in the past 3 decades. Microchips are the most advanced architecture humans have built. Big companies like Intel and Nvidia were building the biggest chips for us. Hardware was measured by gaming performance.
But professional demand has exploded and they have 10x higher budget: First we got cloud and virtual machines ($10k server CPUs) and now AI ($50k AI GPUs). Biggest leading edge chips will go to professional use, while we gamers have to content with smaller/older chips. Devs can't assume that gaming HW gets 2x faster every 2 years. PS5 launched at $399 5 years ago. Today the Steam Machine is slightly slower, but has 2.5x price tag. Back in the day we would have expected 10x performance bump in 5 years at the same price.

I'm 48 and over the course of my life my family and myself have owned about 12 different game consoles. Not once have I ever thought I have not owned a game, physical or digital, when I have purchased it. Especially when a tab says "BUY NOW".
Sony says "reasonable consumers" know they don’t own the digital PlayStation games they buy.
It argues that it's "not plausible" to suggest that when they buy a digital game they actually believe they're "obtaining ownership" of it.

Funny how Sony Playstation says “Buy now” and actually mean “rent now”, “pay-for-access-to-play-now”, “you-won’t-reasonably-own-this-game-but-you-reasonably-still-need-to-pay-full-price-and-we-can-reasonably-revoke-your-license-at-any-reasonable-time!” Oh and let’s not talk about their “sale” season. Sale. LOL.
So who’s pretending here Sony?! It’s a plausible question. 🤔

Rest in Peace, Sam Neill. You blessed us 80s and 90s kids with so many unforgettable characters that still live in our minds. I loved every single one—but Dr. Alan Grant left a deep impression that I’ll carry in my heart forever. That fedora-wearing, raptor-hating paleontologist who went from “kids are noisy and annoying” to full-on protective dad mode while dodging T-Rexes.
You gave us dinosaurs, danger, and that perfect mix of wonder and terror that defined so many of our childhood summers.
Rest easy, sir. Thanks for the memories, the scares, and the dino-sized heart you brought to every role. 🍕🦕💔

Last year, Microsoft made $101 billion in profits, got a $12.5 billion tax break from Trump & paid its CEO $96 million.
This year, it’s raising the price of an Xbox by $150 & eliminating 3,200 jobs.
Please don’t tell me corporate tax breaks create jobs. It never trickles down.

Steam IS a better option for one big reason - there is NO generational lockout. I have PC games on my Steam account from when I was a kid that work just fine still. No new device stops that. With every other platform you’re gambling that the latest iteration will support the previous ones. You are correct though, it is essentially the same so I would still prefer to have the option for real PC physicals… I used to love my White Label games…ah man… good times…

People act like going to steam is a better option. It’s the same shit on all digital storefronts.

The "Mixtape is an Ellison nepo baby project" discourse is peak modern internet: pure, unadulterated grift fueled by people who would rather manufacture outrage than open a single Wikipedia tab.
Let's actually look at the reality of how this game got made.
Mixtape wasn't cooked up in a Hollywood boardroom. It’s the brainchild of Johnny Galvatron. Johnny is an Australian musician who used to front the punk rock band The Galvatrons. In 2017, he stepped away from the band to found his own studio, Beethoven & Dinosaur.
His first game? The Artful Escape. It was a masterpiece that won massive critical acclaim, secured BAFTA nominations, and proved Johnny’s unique voice in the industry. That proven track record and creative success is exactly what landed them the funding for Mixtape.
But sure, let’s ignore years of indie hustle, actual musical pedigree, and an award-winning debut just to chase engagement with a lazy narrative. Do better.
