Another burst water main — less than 48 hours after the last one. @DwrCymru, residents need this dealt with urgently. Two bursts in such a short period raise serious questions about the condition of the network and whether the maintenance programme is adequate. We want answers!

This is appalling. If Dan was a councillor he would have been made to step back from all public-facing duties while the police undertake their investigation. The blatant disregard for safeguarding is abhorrent.
How on earth can DAN THOMAS of ReformUK ex leader of REFORMWales be allowed run a Surgery in Casnewydd Islwyn constituency with a charge of Assault and Coercive behaviour hanging over his head He will undoubtedly have to be involved with VUNERABLE PEOPLE DBS checks for Politicians CAN THE SENEDD TAKE SOME BLOODY ACTION FOR GOODNESS SAKE

Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 is an integral part of our United Kingdom. The Union is as vital, as it is precious. Yet today in Cardiff a ‘Separatist Summit’ was held - showing that making the daily lives of the people of Wales better is simply NOT the Plaid priority.  Despite what they said to Senedd voters in May. Hoodwinking the electorate by disguising that their true aim was taking a wrecking ball to the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 Plaid must get on with the day job and make their objective growing the Welsh economy, cutting NHS waiting lists, improving Welsh school standards and working to deliver their missing childcare offer. Our @Conservatives party will always work to protect our Country. @KemiBadenoch @DarrenMillarMS @WelshConserv @Conservatives @Byron_Davies

If you’re interested in how Wales’ education system got to these disastrous results I’ve tried to provide some history and context here. Hopefully you find it worth your time: Welsh pupils fall further in maths as school tests expose gap with England  itv.com/news/2026-09-08/wels…
Replying to @RhysWilliamsTV
The new Welsh government has inherited these problems but Plaid committed in its manifesto to raise standards. My full ITV News analysis brings together today’s figures and several years of reporting on education in Wales: itv.com/news/2026-09-08/wels…

I think it's fair to say that's not a great night for Nigel Farage and Reform UK Betting markets closed with their expected vote share at 73.5% and Count Binface expected to be under 20% We now give him a 31% chance of being replaced as leader this year, whilst Kemi Badenoch is back into favourite for next Prime Minister
Clacton parliamentary by-election, result: REF: 62.8% (+16.6) BIN: 26.7% REU: 1.4% IND (Tony Francis): 1.2% REU: Rejoin EU. Reform HOLD.

Zia Yusuf - who isn’t even an MP - calling a former captain in the Scots Guards who served in Northern Ireland and was mentioned in dispatches a “traitor to Britain” is, by any measure, completely nuts. huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/b…

True Story: This sow - Non (a Welsh Pedigree Pig!) - has chosen to give birth in woodland amongst the brambles. She has (24hrs on) given birth to 13 piglets and, so far, 13 remain. To satisfy the criteria for the Welsh Sustainable Farming Scheme Non isn’t allowed to be fed in ‘habitat’ (inc woodland) and therefore wouldn’t be able to forage, roam and nest in our woodland. Needless to say I have not enrolled in the scheme. My pigs welfare trump any Govt scheme and I am not putting them indoors. Photo 1 is the nest. Photo 2 is what you can see of her nest from the outside.

This is despicable. Please voters of the UK, never let these people near power.
Pity the French did not show the same resolve in defending their sovereignty in June 1940.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
About 90,000–100,000 French soldiers were killed during the Battle of France (May–June 1940), when Germany invaded. Around 92,000 is the figure most commonly cited. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of…

This is one of my hay fields. We baled our hay on the 25th June 2026. We’ve had approx 30mins of rain since dropping maybe a mm. This is the best field of grass that I currently have for my flock. By Monday they will be wanting more and I will be putting hay in here. The lambs literally have no grass in with them. They are on hay and for the first time I will be buying lamb creep on Monday. Even last year I didn’t need to buy lamb creep. My lambs were all fat and gone by August. There is no rain on the horizon. Dire.

A second Monmouthshire Labour councillor has quit the party and joined the Independents. The Conservatives are now the joint largest group. Only the Conservatives can get rid of Labour and stop Reform.

Keir Starmer was forced out as a last throw of the dice for a desperate Labour Party. Labour have been a disaster. Those same MPs are still there. They snatched the winter fuel allowance, increased unemployment, pushed up inflation and raised taxes.
