"Fulsome is not a close relative of full, and does not
mean generous. It means gushing, cloying, effusive or
sickeningly fawning. If that’s how to want to describe
a speech or tribute, then this is the word for you." BBC News Style Guide 2003 See also bbc.co.uk/newsstyleguide/all…

BBC news still telling us what the papers say is anochronistic and idiotic. You're the ones supposed to tell us the news, not give free publicity to some tax-dodging billionaire's warped perspective of it.

Farewell & thank you Margaret Hamilton. Was a joy to interview her for #13MinutestotheMoon back in 2018. A software engineer for NASA’s Project Apollo, among the first of her kind & pioneer in truest sense who pushed the boundaries of possibility in space and on Earth. Ad Astra.

Why are radio adverts always the most annoying things to ever exist why do they think this is going to make anyone want to buy their product

A very special day today: the centenary of radio’s longest running outside broadcast — not just here in the UK, but anywhere in the world. Join us at 3pm on @BBCRadio3, live from @wabbey, as we celebrate 100 years of Choral Evensong on the BBC: bbc.co.uk/programmes/m003215…

I pointed out at the time the Consultation was flawed and not in keeping with Ofcom’s guidelines. The BBC was not ‘wanting to do more local programming’ it was doing less. And it did not consolidate any extras into the Licence - so needn’t do them. And it hasn’t. I’ve written to Ofcom about this - and Ofcom’s failure to decide whether to investigate my complaint about the BBC’s failure to reach its required local hours in 24/25. It should have decided whether to investigate in 15 days - it has taken 7 months to date.

Where did the promised radio programmes go? How the BBC told @Ofcom it would increase the number of local weekend programmes but is now planning to REDUCE them further and have a national show! A great article by Adam Christie from @NUJofficial @NUJ_Leeds

Today is the end of the pier for Gabriel’s Wharf. For nearly 40 years it’s been a happy, hippy, happening place for food, independent traders and brilliant free happenings. So of course it had to go.

It’s a very special day on @BBCRadio3 - a 12 hour odyssey, broadcasting live from lighthouses around the UK. It’s going to be epic.
I’m very proud to have played a small part in this, creating the on air promos for the day.
