A vote for Mike Rogers is a vote for a national abortion ban. Let me say that again. A vote for Mike Rogers is a vote for a national abortion ban.

Trump/Epstein is real, and so is the MAGA DOJ cover-up.

This. This. This.
So the other day @SarahLongwell25 was trying to explain to me the mindset of disaffected Trump voters in her focus groups and I had trouble comprehending it but then I saw this song, which explains it even better than Sarah does ....

Universal healthcare is not “free” it’s just a smarter way to pay for healthcare. I would gladly pay more taxes in exchange for never having to worry about copays, premiums, or deductibles ever again. And I don’t have to worry about losing coverage if I lose my job.

Premiums aren’t just going up on their own, costs are rising because of decisions Republicans in Congress made:
The GOP gutted Medicaid and then allowed ACA enhanced tax credits to expire. Over 5 million Americans had to drop their coverage as a result.
But uninsured people still get sick. And when they end up in emergency rooms because they couldn’t afford to get preventive care, that cost gets absorbed by everyone.
That means hospitals have to pay more to provide care, and working families then pay more for their health care coverage to make up the difference.
If Congressional Republicans had been willing to work with Democrats to keep Americans insured, we could have avoided this. But the GOP’s number one priority was tax cuts for the rich, no matter what that meant for the rest of us.
Breaking News: Obamacare premiums will rise by 13% next year, hitting middle-income people already struggling with health care costs. nyti.ms/4sCuytF

This religious test for holding public office would disqualify every religious minority from elected office. This is straight-up Islamophobic and antisemitic, and everyone needs to call it out.
Moreno said the quiet part out loud: There's no place for Jewish or Muslim Americans in the GOP's vision for America.

I’m going to suspend my low expectations and express hope that every traditional opponent of bigotry in America, including the @ADL, will unite to condemn this crude, explicit & out of control anti-Muslim rhetoric from senior GOP leaders, which threatens every minority faith.

Every accusation they made was “projection or confession.”
“Jared Kushner was allegedly paid $50 million by a foreign government to get former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson fired,” the New Republic reports.
“In the new book Princes and Thieves: Jared Kushner and Mohamed bin Zayed’s Secret Plot to Remake the Middle East, author Matthew Cole reported that the United Arab Emirates paid Kushner millions to oust Tillerson, who had allegedly become extremely cozy with the Qataris.”

Don’t become numb to this. It’s disgusting and dangerous racism and if Rogers wins next month it’ll only escalate.
Sick, sick stuff.

PSA: This week was kind of a turning point for AI and cybersecurity. Please take this weekend to do some simple cleanup for your family. Some suggestions:
- Set up a password manager like 1Password and give your spouse or partner access to a shared vault. Teach them how to use it.
- Update your passwords for critical stuff - your email account, your bank or financial stuff, etc. Store in your password manager and use the strongest password you can.
- Use two factor auth for everything you can. SMS is not ideal although better than nothing. Google Authenticator or a passkey is better. Hardware key is safest.)
- Add a sim pin to your phone. Makes it harder to sim jack.
- Update your phone and your computer to the newest releases. Turn auto-updates on.
- Freeze your credit - takes 5 minutes.
- Get an IRS Identity Protection PIN.
- If you’re using claude code or have AI agents that browse the web, they’re probably using Node.js. It’s also vulnerable. Update claude code, update node on your machine.
- If you’re building stuff on your computer, ask claude or grokbot (which is connected to twitter and likely has the most current info) to audit any of your repos for vulnerabilities. Ask grok to make it a scheduled task so it can do this daily - things are moving very quickly in the space right now.
- Consider some light resiliency stuff. This probably sounds silly, but it sounded silly at the beginning of covid too. Having printed out copies of important stuff - especially financial accounts. Having some cash on hand. Having some shelf-stable food and clean water or a water filter. Having a map. Having a generator that can at least power your fridge or some devices. Cheap insurance.
Again, I don’t want to alarm people, but I was taught that you should have a Secure plan, a Comfortable plan, and a Wealthy plan. And it seems pretty clear the secure plan needs to now factor cybersecurity risk as a legit threat. Take a weekend and shore yourself up.

Not to jinx Como today, but I believe they’ll mess Man United up badly.
My prediction is 4:1 to Como.
Next, United will be linked with Cesc Fabregas as a potential replacement for Michael Carrick.
The world is just too predictable man.

Texas was built by hope. By people who had no business believing — but believed anyway.
To every Texan who’s ever wondered if anyone in power is paying attention: We are taking our state back.
Because a little bit of hope is a dangerous thing.
