I hope our website wellbi.in doesn't crash because @ganeshsonawane just tweeted about our product and 'poor marketing' 😂. Jokes aside, we saw a sudden spike in website visitors! We’ve been cautious with ad spend recently due to our increased product pricing and allowing Meta Pixel to adapt to capturing new, higher-priced customers. Huge thanks to the @myfrido founder for the shoutout—I’ve been following him for a while and learning a ton from his strategies. Fun fact: I’m a mechanical engineer too!
their bamboo tees are the softest i have tried out of all brands in India, someone teach them marketing guys! why no one knows about you

I’d also suggest expanding these routine visits to unhygienic restaurants and holding the food industry accountable for serving unsafe food across Bangalore

Having personally worked with both as a seller, here is my experience. Flipkart’s vendor support is terrible, while Myntra’s supplier portal is a tech nightmare. Employees who started at these companies describe different experiences than what vendors deal with every day.
Building is an addiction and @Flipkart @Myntra introduces that addiction to you very early in your career :) @FirstClubIndia

Not promoting Mysuru as a migration destination, but hey, we do have better AQI.
Landed in Delhi last night. Even before landing, the air looked terrifying. Being here feels like walking through a smoke chamber.

Turns out, some Indian consumer psychology works across continents. Haha. Just give them what they love: BUY 1 GET 1.
indian american owners of the restaurant in texas where @jamestalarico made a dosa, named a special dosa after him! go have some ‘james dosa’, sounds like a literal winner

You’ll also see this happening in big corporates. Employees in procurement departments at consumer product companies sometimes receive kickbacks from manufacturers to get them approved as vendors, influence supplier selection, or secure larger orders.

I like trying internet brands & new addition is the @Wellbi_in T-shirt. The material is soft & felt comfortable to wear in Mumbai’s heat. People of X are just amazing @Rishhari @imYadav31 🙌

When Vinayak visited the US, I met him at an event while he was still working as a Product Manager at a fintech company. He was exploring the US and validating an idea around helping NRIs invest in India. Fast forward to today, and the product is live. Really glad to see that early vision turn into a real product. All the best, Vinayak!
me and @aswinps_ft growing up have seen how nris bring prosperity to our households and still struggle to grow their own money. today we're launching getdesh.com: a better way to grow your money, built only for nris. nris send $135B home every year(~3% of indian gdp). and still, opening an account means a branch visit, and investing means couriering documents, or an agent mis-selling a ulip. we're building the full financial stack for nris. today, it starts with investing in indian asset classes and global markets, fully online, with an advisor you can talk to. aswin is a finfluencer with 0.5M followers and 5M monthly impressions. so we didn't start with a product. we took a subset of his audience, put them in a WhatsApp group, and did things that don't scale. here's what we learned : 🧵

Out of everyone standing in line, how many can comfortably afford this product? Also, does Bluorng offer EMI financing?
Is the BLUORNG hype actually real? Has anyone from X actually stood in that queue? I genuinely didn’t know Gen Z would willingly stand outside a store for hours when you can just order online. Are they being paid to stand there, or is there free merch involved before 11 AM? 😂

Flipkart marketplace sellers deserve a whole case study. It’s a completely different universe of rip-offs that you somehow don’t see on most other marketplaces.

Are we suddenly going to see Indians messaging their friends in the US: “So… when are you visiting India? It’s been a while ”

Entrepreneurs supporting entrepreneurs. We’re glad to be working with great brands like @upandrun_in, hydration brand founded by @ChanakyaShah @Rituhathi We’re partnering with them on @Wellbi_in merchandise featuring their company logo. Not just because we’re friends, but because he genuinely loves our product especially our performance T-shirts.

This is where the actual cap table and VC terms really come into play. VCs often have clauses that protect their downside in a tough outcome, which can sometimes mean founders end up taking home very little or even nothing despite building a company worth hundreds of crores.
Just in: SUGAR Cosmetics’ important numbers from RoC filings ▪️Funding: Rs 144.5 Cr ▪️Investor: A91 (existing) ▪️Current valuation: Rs 755 Cr ▪️Earlier valuation: Rs 3,000 Cr ▪️A91 to hold 20% stake in Sugar Early investors seek buyers for their stakes at steep discounts <🧵>

Luxury watch brands have really perfected the art of making you wait outside the store. If you know, you know.
Great,But I mostly see D2C brands launching in <10k range I have this hunch that range of 10-25k is a sweet spot to sell great designer watches. AOVs will be ⏫ + you can go offline too with experiential stores justifying the rentals at prime locations What are your thoughts?

There’s a growing trend of founders launching D2C watch brands. Today I heard IIT kids flew to China, figured out the entire supply chain, lunched a website with pre-orders, and is selling the first batch to their own alumni network. The new generation is getting scary good at branding and supply chain. The barrier to building a D2C brand is getting lower.

Holy fuck. Are we going to see early D2C movers getting crushed by newer D2C companies with better products, branding, and execution? Or is competition getting so intense that D2C itself becomes unsustainable in the next few years?
🚨🚨Vineeta Singh’s Sugar Cosmetics which began life as FabBag in 2012 has been struggling for the past few years amid a cash crunch, offline strategy which hasn’t paid off, and rising competition from newer beauty and skincare brands. Today we get details on its new funding, more of a bailout by existing investor A91 Partners. The company’s valuation once at Rs 3,000 crore has been stripped by 80%, @pranavmukul reports for @ettech.

I guess everyone wants to build a ₹500–1,000 crore company. Who doesn’t? And honestly, if a founder isn’t negotiating or constantly looking for ways to reduce costs, I doubt they’ll build a ₹500 crore company. Being disciplined with money is part of the job. Negotiating doesn’t mean you don’t value someone’s service. It means being disciplined about where and how you spend. Yes, ₹80K is nothing when you’re running a ₹500 crore company. But is he running one yet? But He still have to start at ₹1 crore. At that stage, even ₹80K can matter. Only the founder knows the actual cash flow, margins, salaries, and other expenses. Same goes for you as a service provider. You also need to negotiate and make sure you’re selling your service at a price that works for you. I don’t blame either side. Both are simply trying to get the best deal for their business. All the best with the negotiation though. Since I know you, I’m rooting for you. 🤝
I don't understand founders who say they want to build a ₹500 Cr company but hesitate to spend ₹80k on something that saves them energy and hours. Was negotiating with a client for branding and he was legit fighting for a 15k discount. If ₹15k matters more to you than the time & mental bandwidth you're wasting over it, maybe the problem isn't your revenue. It's your mindset around money.
