Hugely underwhelming appointment on the face of it. But hard to imagine there was a long queue of recognised managers willing to come in & work with two club-appointed assistants & have to justify his team selections before and after games to a committee every week.
Tough gig.
Without any doubt the correct call.
Nice guy so wouldn’t have been good to see Meadow Lane turn to Fullarton-type levels of anger (or us waste another season) before a decision was made.
The last paragraph of the statement is the most important. Onto the next 🙌
Anyone blaming the recruitment here - SM’s taken the L2 Player of the Season, who had made a record 24 assists from LW & turned him into an auxiliary right back.
I’d wager a competent manager would get a lot more from the likes of Whitaker, Grant, Gordon, Traore, Jarvis etc.
The main reason I’m still on ‘X’ 👇🏻

Gutted 😔
Luke Williams is set to be the new Swansea City head coach. Championship club in advanced talks with Notts County over compensation for Williams & his assistant Ryan Harley. Expect them to be in the dugout on Sat.

Champagne football. 🍾 🥂
Super #Notts

One of the most consistent, reliable players I can ever remember seeing in a Notts shirt. So integral to the way we play. Arguably POTY in both of his seasons here.
A massive loss.
We're saddened to report that Matt Palmer has been ruled out for the remainder of the season through injury.

Two good teams, nothing in the game. No reason for major concern with Notts, if the linesman doesn’t bottle the red in-front of his eyes it’s a different outcome.
Wrexham very effective at what they do (endless direct channel balls, long throws, harassing officials etc).
That first half tonight was up there with the best 45 I’ve ever seen from a Notts side.
Truly blessed to watch this incredible team.
Notts’ comms manager realising he’s now going to have to work on a Sunday.
Interesting tweet to wake up to
Particularly bemused it’s come from Rawlo, who I actually defended yday when others didn’t
Many pointed fingers at him for the penalty - I said he came on cold at CB, which is difficult to do, so his mistake can be excused
Perhaps I shouldn’t have been so measured there
It’s also a shame a player that I’ve admired, and was complimentary about my content when I met him, has decided to tweet this in a public forum
As for the boxing - got absolutely no idea what relevance that has to anything. I don’t tweet about boxing much on here, but I’m a huge fan, and again, I don’t even think I was being critical 🤷♂️
That’s all I’ll say as I understand things can be said in the heat of the moment
It’s widely accepted Notts are doing pretty much everything very well currently, but the engagement with and access for young supporters is one particular area where I can’t image there’s a club anywhere doing it any better. 🖤🤍
Today showed just how ludicrous the overreaction was after the first two games. So much more coherent and dangerous going forward, much more like what we’ve become used to.
Could do with cutting out the errors at the back though 😅.
Great to be back where we belong. 🙌
Feels like there’s a year’s worth of pent-up negativity spilling out of some fans.
One poor league defeat, and one (expected) cup defeat against higher division opposition. Two games.
This squad and manager should have more credit in the bank than to be battered for that. ✌️
@GavVallance Only just realised that I inadvertently stuck to the three paragraph template here.
It really is contagious.
Pow Pow Pow. 👀💥🔥 ✍️
The best new season eve staple! 🙌
@outXrun with yet another #Nottsbingo classic 👏🏻
You know what, let's launch #NottsBingo today.
Here's to another exciting season, some new and old rivalries, and, hopefully, lots of boxes crossed off. #Notts are back in the #EFL. Come on you Pies 👊
