Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant! Another milestone for England's age-group teams. That's now the complete set of major tournament wins - U17, U19, U20, U21 - since 2017. Excellence in coaching and player development is working. And it has been joyous to watch all the way through.

England 3-0 up inside half an hour. World Cup semis 2018, Euro final this year. One day, maybe people will start giving Gareth Southgate just a little bit of credit for knowing what he's doing.

There will be social media recrimination, because of course there will be. There will be regrets too - entirely fair. But it's been a brilliant summer, the best tournament I can remember and it doesn't need to be the end of anything but the continuation something positive.
