I have a genuine question. And it’s not about talking to the dead. Are Christians that have passed now in heaven? I ask this because scripture states we are all resurrected when the Lord comes. 1st Thessalonians 4:16 states “the dead in Christ will rise first.” I’ve generally always assumed that when we die, it’s as if we are on “pause” and then come to life when the Lord comes. Yet many believers state that the dead in Christ are in heaven now. If that’s true, then has the early church been in heaven for 1900+ years waiting for the resurrection by the Lord? So if this is true, the early church (and any others that have died) go to heaven for years and centuries, then gets resurrected and then goes to the Kingdom?
I believe that talking to the deceased is sinful. Even to Christians that have passed and are in heaven. Do you agree or disagree?

I’ve always read verse 14 as “ if Jesus died and rose again, so will you as along as you believe in him.” Understand I am certainly not arguing at all. I took this as another confirmation that you’ll rise again as long as you believe in him. Rather than the timing in comparison to the 2nd coming. Your point about Revelation 6 makes good sense. Like you said, they may not feel the passage of time. Perhaps it’s like a holding pattern. Maybe, When we all die (before the second coming) we are all grouped together (in Rev 6) and perhaps that grouping event only feels like a short moment. Whereas, most pop-culture pastors say “your grandma (or spouse or whoever) is in heaven looking down on you.” I don’t really buy into that. The “holding pattern” of Revelation 6 makes more sense. All who have died in Christ over the past 1900+ years are instantly transported to this alter scene for a moment (or feels like a moment) and then Jesus returns. Just speculation. I could be wildly wrong.

It’s probably wise not to settle on one single translation; have a few to bounce between. The NKJV has a critical translation error in Ezekiel 38 that started a now-widespread interpretation. Ezekiel 38:2 says “the Prince of Rosh,” while other translations omit “Rosh” and use the correct “Chief Prince.” Because of this error, many Christians believe Rosh refers to Russia, which is wrong. Rosh is a Hebrew word for a high-ranking individual, hence why other translations use “Chief Prince.” Most scholars say the NASB is the most accurate for modern interpretation and reading.
Very seriously considering making a move from ESV to NKJV in the near future

I received a letter from an extended warranty company saying they’ve been trying to reach me. The offer expires November 9. I don’t need it since I just bought a new car. Let me know if any of you need it and I’ll mail it to you.

Posts like this make Ezekiel 38/39 no longer seem like a distant reality. If this prediction is true it’s interesting on multiple points. 1. Iran rebuilds itself in 2 years. And restored in 5. The timing of this is intriguing. 2. America withdraws and Israel stands alone. 3. An agreement or peace treaty or something will come to fruition. 4. Eventually, Persia will feel the need to loot and plunder for revenge.

It’s a simple test. You have two answers to choose from. True or false. Your answer determines your fate.
If God is real, why can't He just show clear proof that He exists?

There are no eyewitness accounts of evolution, Epstein’s cause of death, or the Big Bang theory. Yet people adhere to them.

This is an awful take. Did Jesus stop being Jewish? You can be Jewish and believe in Jesus. Plenty of Jews believe in Jesus. Your race and heritage don’t come to an end when you accept Jesus.

If you’re worried about it enough you stop being Jewish
