Sometimes I feel like the rest of us are being punished by a very specific kind of affluent white socialist who grew up expecting to be more successful than their parents, realized they probably won’t be, and decided the entire “system” must be illegitimate.
And at some point, yes, you have to participate in capitalism. You have to get a job. I am more than willing to (and already do) have serious conversations about stagnant wages, economic mobility, the cost of living and that absolutely abysmal jobs report. Those are real problems!
But some of these people don’t even try. Being an activist was never, by itself, going to buy you a house babes.

Hundreds of millions of people throughout the world are immersed in extreme poverty. Yet, disproportionate wealth remains in the hands of a few. It is an unjust scenario, in the face of which we cannot fail to question ourselves and commit to change things. There is no lack of resources at the root of disparities, but the need to address solvable problems related to a more equitable distribution of wealth, to be achieved with moral sense and honesty.
