MASSIVE RING FORMED AROUND THE SUN OVER THE GRAND CANYON
Visitors looked up to witness one of the sky’s most incredible optical displays.
A giant halo completely encircled the Sun, creating an unforgettable view high above the Grand Canyon. The phenomenon occurs when sunlight passes through millions of tiny ice crystals suspended high in the atmosphere.

🎆 A cosmic fireworks show unlike anything on Earth! 🌌✨
This breathtaking "Ocean of Stars" image from the NSF–DOE Rubin Observatory is more than just beautiful—it's packed with science.
The brilliant colors reveal the secrets of the stars: 🔹 Blue-white stars are the hottest and most massive. 🔴 Red stars are cooler and often in different stages of their life cycle.
By studying a star's color, astronomers can learn about its temperature, age, and evolution, turning this dazzling view into a map of stellar history.
It's a stunning reminder that the universe puts on spectacular light shows every day—no fireworks required. 💙✨

A solar fireworks show! 🎇
The Sun emitted a strong solar flare on July 4, peaking at 4:41 p.m. ET. NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory captured an image of the event, which was classified as X1.3. The same view from the spacecraft's AIA 131 channel is shown here colorized in red, white, and blue: go.nasa.gov/4y5m4xp

#PPOD: Mars' Argyre Basin ☄️
Remember when everything we knew about #Mars was the Viking orbiter images? Then came the landers and more orbiters, then the rovers and the helicopter. Today, we are searching for life on Mars, and we stand on the shoulders of giants.
Mars' Argyre Basin, an 1800 km wide impact crater in the southern hemisphere, is probably the best-preserved large impact basin in the Solar System. This oblique image, taken looking northeast across the crater, was taken by Viking Orbiter 1 on July 25, 1976.
