The Free Speech Union exposed that all five members of the Working Group tasked with drafting the official definition of Islamophobia had troubling links to Islamist organisations, including the Muslim Council of Britain and MEND.
The Working Group held a consultation so people could help shape what became the “anti-Muslim hostility” definition. Given the public interest, the FSU asked which groups and individuals had been consulted.
Shadow Justice Secretary Nick Timothy submitted a Freedom of Information request. The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) replied that it had deleted all the responses — in what appears to be against the Government’s own data policy.
The FSU then threatened Angela Rayner’s department with legal action.
Now the department’s most senior civil servant says the responses do exist and remain on its data system, but the department will not disclose who was consulted.
So what is going on? Were we told the responses had been deleted to conceal the fact that Islamist extremists had the chance to influence the definition?
We are now told that an Islamophobia tsar will be announced imminently. Given Rayner and her department’s record, who on earth could it be?

What fucking breathing space
Mortgages (which will also lead to increased rent) will increase approx ££1,000 +a year, in Jan energy bills will increase by approx 25% or by £480 per year. Also factor in fuel costs which remain at record levels.
April will see above inflation increases for every bill we pay, Water, Council Tax, Phone/Internet etc.
Interest Rates and Inflation will continue to rise throughout 2027.
Yet @andyburnham and @UKLabour thinks giving us 20p of the price of Gherkins, or a £100 CT Rebate is giving us Breathing Space.
Somehow though, Burnham is able to find money such as £10bn for Ukraine, £500m for foreign students, extra £bns for foreign aid, plus possibly further £bns in Slavery Reparations, every penny of this could be used to support British Families, but no he’d rather spend it on virtue signalling while British families decide between Eating and Heating.
Last week’s Budget gave British families and businesses much-needed breathing space for today.
But what does that actually look like for you?
Over 20 million households will receive £100 to help with your energy bills. We’ve also extended the £50 VAT cut on electricity until July 2027 and are scrapping unfair gas standing charges.
If you drive, we’ve extended the 5p cut to fuel duty to July 2027.
If you’re working hard on the National Living Wage, you’ll get a pay rise of £910 a year from April.
If you’re saving for your first home, our Your First Home Scheme will help 70,000 people onto the property ladder.
If you’re a pensioner living on the State Pension, you won’t pay a penny of income tax.
If you’re a new parent, we’re extending parental pay to more than 160,000 more mums, dads and partners, including the self-employed.
And at the supermarket, we’ve cut tariffs on more than 100 everyday products, from baked beans to chocolate.
These are our choices. These are Labour choices, putting you first.

I am now very convinced that those supporting this Bill simply have not read it.
The offence will crystalise, as @Jebadoo2 pointed out by a parent telling a child to 'love your body', if that upsets the child sufficiently.
Basic and necessary parenting will risk criminalisation. This is a terrible idea.

This is extremely bad news for Britain.
If the Bank of England's inflation predictions come true, the cost of living crisis is going nowhere.
Households are already struggling with rising bills, food prices and the cost of everyday essentials.
Now we're facing the prospect of inflation hitting 5% next year.
Labour's handling of the economy deserves serious scrutiny.

How on earth an organisation that misrepresented the law to so many institutions, for so many years, to such devastating effect, be allowed anywhere near another law that could potentially net them millions and cause more untold damage, is a government scandal in its own right.

If senior people don’t feel they need to resign over the appalling, heartless police mistreatment of Henry Nowak as the eighteen-year-old student lay dying, then how bad would something have to be before senior people resigned?
Time was when honour demanded that conduct with heinous consequences led to the people ultimately responsible taking responsibility.
I am so sick of the Nothing to see here culture.

The EUs two biggest net contributors to its budget are France and Germany.
France is on the verge of bankruptcy and will likely need a bail out by the ECB.
Germany is already challenging the existing costs of EU membership, not to mention the regulatory restrictions which are strangling economic growth.
All this and they haven't even started the repayments on the EUs one trillion Euro debt mountain, payments of which are due to commence next year.
Alongside this the EU plans to expand into Montenegro and Albania following the completion of negotiations next year. A costly exercise in its own right.
They will never admit it but the EU desperately needs the UK back as a major financial contributor simply to survive.
Only an idiot would think that rejoining the EU is a sound move for the UK.
@andyburnham is that idiot.

Raising rates when private sector earnings are falling in real terms will do nothing to lower the commodity prices which are driving inflation. When inflation hits 5% next year expect some proper private sector failures not just povo retailers selling batteries.

Convicted criminal Louise Haigh caught lying in Parliament. @UKLabour 's Coup PM @andyburnham has some nerve even having this criminal on the front bench, let alone his deputy standing in for him while he jollies it up in Antigua. Disgusting Haigh needs removing.

Back on votes for 16 yesterday - inevitably, schools and teachers are being dragged in to 'help' 16 year olds make informed decisions when the law changes and they can vote. But herein lies a danger of politicising education - party politics could turn citizenship lessons into propaganda, resulting in toxic rows. And I am not convinced it won't compromise teacher impartiality. Just imagine which parties will be smeared. The minister interrupted me half way saying that the law already says schools need to be impartial. I reminded her that the Department for Education was only recently forced to clamp down on sectarian, pro-Gaza teachers.

Watch Labour's Lucy Powell pull a face when Tim Stanley mentions the Rape Gangs
This is the same Lucy Powell who previously said rape gangs were a "racist dogwhistle"
She actually just hates poor little white girls doesn't she
Despicable
