Rails 8.2 shipped `bin/rails query` for AI agents. On 7.2–8.1? I backported it, plus a Claude Code skill to safely query prod anywhere: Kamal, Heroku, SSH, k8s, Docker. 💎 github.com/lazaronixon/rails… 🤖 github.com/lazaronixon/rails…

But who will tell them Rails is slow? 🤔
🔥 🔥🔥Whop reached $5B valuation. A Rails company that started after covid and switched from serverless JS stack to Ruby on Rails a few months in. Outpaced all competition because of how fast they can SHIP with Rails. Whop also leveraged Evil Martians multiple times to speed up dev experience and application performance.

We released Ruby 4.0.9, 3.4.12, and 3.3.13, and published an announcement about Regexp compilation fixes. ruby-lang.org/en/news/2026/1… If your application compiles a regular expression from an untrusted string, please update your Ruby to one of those versions.

Ruby 4.1.0dev on Windows (mswin, not mingw) is getting faster. On the ruby-bench headline benchmarks, the 4.1 dev build runs 1.32x faster than 4.0 without a JIT, and 2.19x faster with YJIT, which now works on mswin. Stay tuned for the 4.1 release.

The answer to "what does this enable?" is ReActionView v0.6, which introduces LiveView-like, fine-grained reactivity for Rails. You declare state in your view like strict locals, read it in plain Ruby, and write it from HTML attributes. Updates happen at the slot level, so only the changed values are updated. No JavaScript framework and no new file format needed.

Lexxy 1.0 brought an ALT text editor. This closes an embarrassing gap that Action Text and Trix have had since their release. Major kudos to @lylo for pushing for this and making it happen in Action Text. And to @brunoprietog and @zoltanhosszu for taking care of the Lexxy side. If you want to learn more about how Bruno cooked in Lexxy, check the new doc sections: - Hotkeys: lexxy.dev/docs/hotkeys.html - Accessibility: lexxy.dev/docs/accessibility… As I said in the Rails World presentation, Lexxy is not a Trix with tables. We went for the full package here.
