Reflecting on a fabulous weekend around the running community. Pacing 28’ Sewerby parkrun before York for the annual Running Commentary get together. Sunday, pacing 4.30 at the Yorkshire Marathon. One thing that this reminded me is that marathons are bloody hard😊🏃♂️💪 @RunComPod

Four laps so had to be disciplined today.
Enjoyed Lap 1, held back on 2&3 to survive the double inclines then pushed myself on lap 4 before going all out from mile 12.

On a day of marathon running for other (especially in York @RunComPod - well done all of you 👏👏👏) it was a steady run over 90 mins for me.

Yorkshire Marathon done in 4:02:12, marathon PB by 6 mins 3 secs 🚨 (previous PB set at Loch Ness Marathon in 2015!) and a course PB by 10 mins (previous one set last year). Lovely to see @steven23gall at the start & saw @DeeringRob & @Progradar on the out & backs. @RunComPod

@RunComPod took 13 mins off my PB, finishing in 3.25.46. Not bad for a 51’er who had a PE in the summer of ‘25 (there is a route back 👍). Gutted to miss you @DeeringRob but I heard them shout you out over the tannoy! Well done 👏
