Therapists who decided to walk away from major insurance companies who pay less and less, if at all, for psychotherapy can have difficulty navigating consultation calls when they begin taking on private-pay clients. I did. Here are lessons I learned doing it for 2 years:

This. 👇🏻 People seem to get credibility for just being around a long time, even if they’re always wrong. Dear god don’t let that be me.
Finance is one of the only industries where ppl can be wrong about everything all the time yet investors still listen to their opinions Sir, you've been wrong about the economy and financial markets for 15 years. Care to tell us what you think will happen next?

A tax write-off does NOT mean you pay zero tax. Here's how it works... A $2,000 deduction is worth a max tax savings of $740 (37% tax bracket).

Three big mistakes I often see in #privatepractice leader's finances: 1) Using biz expenses as a free lunch (they cannot figure out why they're in debt) 2) No 401k or other long-term saving tool 3) No succession plan By realizing, you can then address.

Great reminder about giving appreciated securities with a carryover cost basis and holding period. Don't forget about that awesome 0% capital gains tax rate, y'all!
A moment today where everything "clicked." Client is annually gifting to 3 kids. 2 of the kids have low income this year. Client has taxable brokerage account. Instead of giving cash, client will gift stock and kids will sell in 0% tax bracket. Saves Client over 35% in taxes.

Unpopular Opinion: The money owed for taxes was never your money to begin with, and the faster one accepts this, the better off they will be! So… 🚫 Don’t: Plan your life around pre-tax income. ✅ Do: Plan your life around (and optimize) post-tax income.

Yikes. I wasn't a fan of tactical allocation funds BEFORE, but this takedown by @syouth1 is really something. 👇
Question: What would have happened if, instead of trading, the managers of tactical allocation fund-of-funds had stood down over the past decade? Answer: Their investors would have gained about twice as much as they did. More here: spr.ly/6015OSNr5

Financial planning is no longer reserved for retirees with a big 401(k) to roll over. You can now receive personalized financial (including investment) advice with even negative net worth! And that's without buying insurance products. Changes are happening. 👏🏼

You can be a master of budgeting and saving but if you never invest your money, financial freedom will be 100x more difficult to achieve. 1) Learn to increase the gap between spending and saving. 2) Invest. Step 2 is crucial.

This is exactly what I talk about all the time. Helping people plan financially for aging and end of life is so important but still full of potholes even when you think you have everything figured out. 1/a few #eol #hpm

That's just it sling tv doesn't have the locals unless you get an antenna, Hulu live tv doesn't carry mlb network, and fubotv and directv stream are overpriced. Vidgo is another option but it's also missing nbc, cbs, and turner networks.

Planning a corporate exit or to start a consulting business is super intimidating. One tool that can really help is creating a cash flow map. Once this is built it's really easy for us to update to account for changes in income and expenses and can lend a lot of peace of mind
