Groundhog day. Again. Whilst the Department of Health twiddles its thumbs and does precisely nothing about it, thousands of people suffer the consequences of their inaction. I moved to England 6 months ago, and I'm still suffering due to the inability of the Department of Health to provide me with a single document that they seemingly cannot locate – at Winsford, England

Sorry, disagree with that. Jadon Sancho is in a league of one for worst transfer ever. Huge fee, huge wages, and in return we got absolutely nothing, apart from a bad attitude and a complete lack of interest in ever playing football. – at Winsford, England
£80 million for Harry Maguire remains the single worst piece of business every done in football.

This is a long read most of you won’t be interested in, but think it’s important that action is taken against AI slop accounts stealing creators work!
We seriously need to talk about the growing problem of AI plagiarism on YouTube because it’s getting out of control. I’ve recently discovered an AI channel that appears to be taking nearly half my videos, running them through AI and repurposing my work as its own content. The wording is different. Some points are expanded, others removed, additional context is thrown in. But the underlying research, arguments, opinions and talking points are often the same. Even the titles and thumbnails are incredibly similar. I know my own work. I know the research I’ve done, the arguments I’ve constructed and the opinions I’ve formed. I can recognise when my content appears to have been taken, reworded and repackaged by AI. It’s not just me, I can see these accounts doing it to other big United and YouTube fan channels work in the space. And as someone who uploads videos every single day, this is particularly frustrating. I’ll spend hours researching a topic, forming my own opinions, recording and editing a video, only to wake up the following day and see the same AI channel (Maggy Talks Football) has uploaded a video covering practically all the same points, arguments and opinions I made the day before. The video might be different in many ways but I can tell when it’s my work thrown into ai and repurposed to be shorter etc. The wording might be different, the order might change and some extra information might be thrown in, but when you’ve spent hours creating that content yourself, you recognise your own work. It’s incredibly disheartening knowing that almost every day, something you’ve put genuine time and effort into creating appears to be getting fed into an AI tool and repurposed by somebody else. And I’m clearly not the only creator experiencing this. So many other creators are having their work copied and repackaged in exactly the same way. This is becoming a widespread problem. What’s particularly concerning is that these AI channels aren’t necessarily bringing anything original to the conversation. They’re taking the hard work of human creators and using AI to produce another version of essentially the same video, with an AI-generated character presenting it. Some of these videos are even getting MORE views than the original creators whose work they appear to be based on. And the audience often has absolutely no idea they’re watching AI. You’ll see hundreds of comments complimenting these AI presenters as though they’re real people. This is genuinely dangerous for the future of content creation. Not just football YouTube, but EVERY niche. Why spend hours researching, scripting, recording and editing original content when someone else can potentially feed your video into an AI tool, change the wording, add a few extra facts and upload their own version the next day? I have absolutely no problem with creators using AI to enhance their work. AI can be an incredible tool. But there’s a massive difference between using AI to help create something original and using AI to disguise the fact you’re repurposing somebody else’s work. Changing the wording doesn’t automatically make the underlying work original. I appreciate this is difficult for YouTube to police, particularly when the wording isn’t identical. But something needs to change. YouTube needs to take this seriously and take action against channels that systematically repurpose other creators’ work without adding genuine original substance. Because if this continues unchecked, what incentive is there for people to keep putting the time, effort and creativity into making original content? AI should be helping creators. Not replacing their work with recycled versions of it.

And of course, the Minister of State in charge of social care at that time, was Helen Whately MP. Perhaps she will take time out from her new role of demonising disabled people to comment on this. I wouldn't hold my breath, though.

I don't know much about James McClean, but I know he's publicly talked about his Autism Diagnosis in the past. I sincerely hope those around him can give him the advice he needs, because some of his recent public statements are not helping anyone.
Derry City has distanced itself from comments made by its player James McClean after he said he believed that speaking to a psychologist was “weak”. The League of Ireland club said on Monday that the comments from McClean “do not reflect our core values or beliefs” and added the club “actively encourages anyone facing mental health challenges to speak openly, seek support and know they never have to face such challenges alone.” The 37-year-old winger said in an interview with the Sunday Independent that he was not open to having therapy because “as a man I would see that as a weakness”. nytimes.com/athletic/7704573…

In a way, I almost respect the Tories for having the sheer brass neck to constantly decry the state the country is in, caused by successive Conservative Governments, and then just completely ignore the fact that the policies they implemented caused most of this. – at Winsford, England
Britain is now living with levels of worklessness that would once have been treated as a national emergency. Yet because so much of it is now recorded as incapacity rather than unemployment, we have gradually come to accept it as a fact of life. dailymail.com/news/article-1… That cannot continue. We need a new generation of welfare reform that restores opportunity, breaks the cycle of dependency and helps people back into work.

Please stop describing ADHD as a superpower, please I beg you. It is not a superpower. Calling it a superpower massively obscures the , at times, absolutely debilitating daily affects the condition has on many, many people, myself included. Calling it a superpower does not help anyone. – at Winsford, England

With much media coverage of a government report that ADHD and autism are being over-diagnosed, a claim which some experts have disputed, half of Britons now believe that the conditions are being over-diagnosed Over-diagnosed: 50% Under-diagnosed: 17% About right: 17%

UK ; We can't afford to have all these people with ADHD not working and claiming benefits; ADHD community; okay, so are you going to provide us with better access to NHS care, improved access to medication and ramp up support services? UK; no, we also think you shouldn't be supported by the NHS because it's too expensive. ADHD community ; okay, so what if we spend our own money to go private, and obtain support that way? UK; we won't recognise the private diagnosis and you'll have to sit on a year's long waiting list. ADHD community; well, what about supporting us in employment, so we are able to support ourselves, by providing reasonable adjustments and supportive working environments? UK; Businesses don't want to employ you because we let the media call you all lazy and workshy, so that's going to be difficult ADHD community; Well, what do you expect us to do?! UK; Not our problem

This past week's coverage of ADHD has really laid bare just how much the media will spin the narrative, just to suit their pre-conceived views. It has been infuriating to watch media outlets across the political spectrum cherry pick a tiny part of the report and use it to prove whatever pre-conceived belief they already had about the condition, and it has been utterly depressing to witness. – at Winsford, England
