The evolution of going direct: Distribution was scarce, so the alpha was in building an audience Then every company started posting all the time, and attention became scarce Then attention became exploited with bait and slop, so now credibility is scarce And there are no shortcuts for credibility

the UX of taking control still needs some work given how bad some sites on the internet are designed. muse really struggles to navigate captchas, passwords, OAuth, scrolling, copy/pasting…esp on mobile where the screen is even smaller. slam dunk otherwise!

I'll be in Denver in three weeks for a rooftop chat with @aarondfrancis and @SA. We'll be chatting Laravel, Laravel Cloud, and even deploying Node, Python, Go, and Rails. 👀 Also giving away Laravel Cloud credits, domains from @namedotcom, and a Nintendo Switch 2 to celebrate that Ocarina of Time remake trailer. ⚔️ luma.com/laravel-93u0

2 hours scrolling on phone per day is 1 month of an entire year gone... so you lose almost 1 full year of your life for every decade spent doing this
i can't believe it, i literally can't believe it. i'm running the numbers over & over, typing it into the calculator different wats, even asking Claude to check my math. i absolutely cannot believe that doing something 2 hours a day equals one month per year. how is that possible

I’m so excited for people to hear today’s episode. I think Agnes Callard’s theory of the uni-context is one of the most original ideas I’ve heard in a long time.
Replying to @DKThomp
@DKThomp w/ Prof. @AgnesCallard interesting idea of unicontext. Personally, Wittgensteinian language game + Hegelian synthesis can equally explain whatever weirdness one may find when language games collide and coalesce podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas…

We built the ability to do a @pangram scan into the @Substack app, because we’re sick of slop and we don’t want substack to turn into LinkedIn

I deeply resent that AI has forced me to eliminate em dashes from my writing for fear of signaling slop

it's crazy that it's not more obvious that this is the correct messaging it's been obvious to so many people more and more it feels like being in sf is not useful for building something for a lot of people

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang says don't listen to CEOs with a god complex on AI (lol, Dario) $NVDA On AI destroying jobs: "these kind of comments are not helpful .. somehow they became CEOs, you adopt a god complex and before you know it, you know everything" "ground ourselves to talking about the facts" AI will "generate hundreds of thousands of jobs .. trillions of dollars [to the U.S. economy]"

Some pretty eye-opening data on the effect of AI coding. When Cursor added agentic coding in 2024, adopters produced 39% more code merges, with no sign of a decrease in quality (revert rates were the same, bugs dropped) and no sign that the scope of the work shrank. Big impact.
