You can learn more from any random Discworld book than you ever could hope to learn from The Great Gatsby.

I got full marks in English from 6th grade on.
I never did course work, I just read books.
Primarily Discworld.
I would fill out a book report form for each book.
Ok.
Yes.
But when has a humie ever suffered by having backups?
Local storm. Some utility project cut the wrong wire. Random earthquake.
Having a week of supplies on manipulator is just a good idea.
Wasting resources is poor form.
And someone that creatively conniving can surely be put to... better... uses, once the... unsavory... bits of him are... removed.

How can someone commit a perfect murder in a world full of telepaths who are employed to find these things out. In a world where they actually rewards such ingenuity, but at the cost of losing all of your past self, to be rebuild to be a more usable person.
The good (?) news about this is he's possibly monetized, so at least he's getting some currency in exchange for publicly sacrificing his credibility on the intertubes.

You do realize the sun didn't determine our calendars and clocks? Right? It didn't send down a notification or a memo explaining when we should have noon breaks?

Today we lost Walter Koenig.
Some thoughts about a fine actor and an exceptional human being...
What are we up to?
USAian military bases.
Once-Great British subjects.
CCP leadership.
Now all Japanese citizens.
The best time to start building a backup of supplies was before your governments locked you in your homes for a time, but the second-best time is now.

No. The role was written for him.

He was the one thing I am impressed with B5, and I just finished that episode with Bester and Garibaldi in Mars last week. I dont know how you brought Koenig into B5 because he was the biggest name in sci-fi back then. There must've had other actors that auditioned as Bester.
Star Trek and Wars cheat with tractor beams, but the lack of mooring lines, tugs, and umbilicals in science fiction in general has been a long-standing source of annoyance for us.

Well aside from certain questions regarding the crew of that cruise ship...
This video puts forward the disturbing lack of tugs in Sci-fi series.

I think it was Iain Banks who said.
“An explosion in a custard factory sounds hilarious, unless you’ve seen it.”
Someone I knew once calculated that there is more chemical energy per weight in some food stuffs than there is in high explosives.

Well, crap. I may have to raise a glass of 'Wodka', using my right hand, not my left.

It's amazing how reliably blackpill reduces to "ignore or erase everything that has worked, look at how nothing ever works, please be depressed".
Fun fact: Agent Alfred Bester, PsiCop, P12 was named after the real-life humie of the same name on account of the latter's "The Demolished Man" story, wherein classifications of telepaths and "deaths of personality" were key elements.

The checklist of things that explode:
1) Is it a fine particle in the air?
2) Does it burn?
If the answer to both is yes, it can explode.
Epic "vibe coded a Steam alternative in a week".
It's a steaming pile of suck and fail.
But, hey, you're more than welcome to give it your own shot, Kiaran. Literally no one's stopping you.
(Aside from the fact that he's an Epic engineer.)
It's really sad that the games industry is drained by a 30% tax on gross revenue.
You could vibe code a Steam alternative in a week. Cloudflare egress is basically free.
The industry is in desperate need of a distribution platform that allows developers to keep their revenue.
Networks effects and the fanatic obsession with "muh Steam library" will make this very difficul.
But if devs could actually keep their earnings, we'd have a greater selection of better games and far more financial success stories.
