Pray for this generation. They are so lost. So lost. Not all, but too many.
At @UTSA for Pick Up the Mic, a student read a poem celebrating the assassination of Charlie Kirk with such glee, then told me I was brave to be out here without my neck covered. I told her I’d pray for her. This is the climate. We pick up the mic anyway.

Happy birthday to the man, the myth, the legend. Teddy Roosevelt established 5 national parks, 18 national monuments, 150 national forests and countless other public lands. Americans are still enjoying the places he helped conserve. Photo at Theodore Roosevelt National Park.

An Open Concern About Appearances: The Catholic Church and the Midterms I am Catholic. I say the rosary. I go to Mass. Nothing in what follows is an accusation against the Church, the Pope, or any bishop. It is a concern about how things look from the outside, and how that appearance is landing with millions of Americans right now. This administration created a Justice Department task force on anti-Christian bias, pardoned twenty-three pro-life prisoners, stood up a White House Faith Office and a Religious Liberty Commission, designated Nigeria a Country of Particular Concern over the killing of Christians, and cut off federal funding to Planned Parenthood. For a Catholic writer, that record is not nothing. It is, on its face, one of the most tangible pro-life and pro-faith agendas in modern presidential history. In January 2025, the same administration suspended the refugee and migrant service contracts that had funded the USCCB and Catholic Charities for decades. Over one hundred million dollars a year. More than ninety-five percent of some program budgets. By spring, staff were laid off. By summer, agencies were closing programs. The money did not come back. Institutions that lose their largest funding stream tend to find their moral vocabulary sharpening in the same direction as their budgets. I am not saying that is what happened. I am saying that is what it looks like, and that appearance is not going unnoticed. Fourteen months later, in April 2026, the public statements from the Vatican and from American bishops toward this administration grew noticeably louder and more pointed than anything seen during the first term. Catholics see it. Non-Catholics see it. And when a bishop speaks out days before a national election against one party’s immigration positions—which are prudential disagreements open to debate—while remaining silent on the other’s platform positions that contradict settled Church teaching on life, on the body, on marriage, the imbalance is impossible to miss. I am not suggesting the Church holds a grudge, or that its silence on one side was bought. I am saying that is the appearance, and appearances are what most Americans, Catholic and not, actually see. When the institution that spent a year without its largest funding stream then directs its public voice at one party near an election—the very party that delivered more concrete protections for Christian life and religious liberty than perhaps any administration in living memory—the appearance is not of a shepherd. It is of a stakeholder. That is the embarrassment I cannot unsee. -- Joseph Fosco October 27, 2026

Son: Dad, was disco really as good as everyone says? Dad: Son, there was a time when a song could break your heart and make you dance at the same time. Listen to this.

Wes Rucker was one of the loudest voices calling for the return of the Beer Barrel. 🍻 We may have lost his voice, but his impact will never be forgotten. 🧡l Bring. Back. The. Barrel. #ForWes🧡 #TeamRucker

"MAGA extremism" is just when borders are secure, elections are fair, the rule of law enforced equally, and Americans keep more of their own money.
Enough with the MAGA extremism wrecking our country. House Democrats will deliver dramatic change.

I felt this on a deeply maternal level. Those of us who have eyes to see will celebrate them. I’ve met them both. They are both exceptionally engaging speakers & just overall great well rounded guys. Thank you, President TRUMP! We appreciate you. Mike Rogers is exceptional, too.
Two black men on course to become the very first black governors of their states. The media has been silent because they are both Republicans

Laken Riley had a Garmin smartwatch on when she was attacked Her heart rate jumped to 170 bpm which told investigators that was when she was being attacked It lasted for 17 minutes then suddenly stopped - that's when the animal finally killed her So the next time you want to tell me about how unfair illegal immigrants are being treated I want you to set a timer for 17 minutes and watch it go by so you can understand how long that young woman fought for her life

The father of the hero who led the counter attack on United Flight 93 on 9/11 just gave the single greatest takedown of Abdul El-Sayed and Socialism I’ve ever heard. Todd Beamer went on stage at Trump’s Michigan rally and TORCHED the DSA: “Their platform reads like the terrorist platform on 9/11 on steroids.” “A birth certificate doesn’t make you an American… Abdul is Anti-American…… We cannot allow this man this man to invade and occupy this country.” What an absolute Patriot. 🔥

You know what's more expensive than $4 a gallon gas? Paying student loans I never took out. Paying for free food for someone that shouldn't even be here. Paying healthcare for people that jumped the border. Paying for infrastructure in a country I've never been to. Paying for military protection for people that hate us. Paying the salary of politicians trying to destroy this country. Paying judge’s salary that no longer support justice. These things are costing me a hell of a lot more than a gallon of gas…

🍊🍊Update 10🍊🍊 We are about to head to the store this morning for the shopping. I'll post video and pictures of thst when we finish. Final total raised was $3,439 in Venmo and $250 in Cashapp, plus my $2k match for a total of $5689.00 for the kiddo's gear at Prisma Children's Hospital. Thank you all for giving and helping. Stay tuned for the videos of us picking it all up and heading to the Hospital. Below is the final tally, proof of funds/transaction history, etc. I haven't made a withdrawal yet, as I brought $5K in cash to simplify the shopping. That way I can just make one withdrawal to pay me back and then charge the excess above $5k ($689) to the venmo card at the store. I'll post detailed purchase receipts after we are done to show every cent spent. Thanks again!!!!

Tom Skerritt was pure class; every time he stepped in front of a camera, he delivered. Once described as a “character actor locked in a leading man’s body,” he made it all look effortless. Rest easy, Viper.
