I'll be regularly posting for a few weeks on the new #EnvironmentalJustice executive order to highlight some of policies that can be harnessed, used, discussed, debated + implemented. An EO represents merely one type of authority + leverage in the political ecosystem.

Fellow academic nerds. Not sure how much of an academic community is left on this here site, but I am interested in scholars who study climate denial and climate misinformation in non-Western countries, Global South, etc. Any suggestions?

Just out in @AusJPolSci : was the Rudd govt wrong in trying to get bipartisan agreement for Australia's ill-fated Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme? I argue no, pretty standard strategy actually (even tho it didn't work). tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.…

New from CSSN scholars @JamesPainter61 et al "Climate delay discourses present in global mainstream television coverage of the IPCC’s 2021 report" nature.com/articles/s43247-0…

ALT Screenshot of abstract: Recent scholarship suggests that groups who oppose acting on climate change have shifted their emphasis from attacking the credibility of climate science itself to questioning the policies intended to address it, a position often called ‘response skepticism’. As television is the platform most used by audiences around the world to receive climate information, we examine 30 news programmes on 20 channels in Australia, Brazil, Sweden, the UK and USA which included coverage of the 2021 report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) on the Physical Science.
