Letting the work speak for itself! These are just a few of my clips from this weekend. @playerfirstgbb
I had the opportunity to compete this past weekend at the Best of the Best showcase! Thanks @FullThrottleT2D for the invite! @bballjkey @playerfirstgbb #BestofTheBest
Now that the 2026 club season has ended and I am able to see the game in a new perspective I am ready to focus on school basketball and grow my program to the best we can be. Even though basketball this year didn’t go my way I have still learned a lot and my journey isn’t over!

CONCEPTUALLY THINKING BASKETBALL: Savannah Wilson (2029) Film Breakdown
@SWilson2029 @playerfirstgbb
At 5’7” with four years of development ahead, Wilson presents the athletic foundation and two-way instincts that translate to high-level basketball. Her profile as a slashing point guard with defensive pressure tools positions her in the sweet spot of modern guard development.
OFFENSIVE PROJECTION:
Wilson’s downhill slashing ability already shows advanced court vision - she attacks with purpose, not just speed. The combination of slashing instincts and emerging shot-making creates a dual-threat profile that defensive coordinators respect. Her ability to finish through contact while maintaining awareness for kick-out opportunities suggests high basketball IQ development.
What separates Wilson from typical athletic guards is her shot selection discipline. She doesn’t force difficult looks when better options exist, indicating decision-making maturity that usually develops later. This foundation, paired with continued skill refinement under Devon Agusi’s system at Player First, creates a trajectory toward elite floor general capabilities.
DEFENSIVE IMPACT:
Her on-ball pressure isn’t just energy - it’s calculated disruption. Wilson applies pressure at the right moments, forces handlers into uncomfortable positions, and uses active hands to create deflections without fouling. The ability to switch onto multiple positions while maintaining defensive principles shows versatility that translates to any system.
ANALYTICAL FRAMEWORK:
Using our OWU evaluation metrics, Wilson grades strongest in competitive character (20%) and physical tools (10%), with significant upside in basketball IQ (40%) and skill execution (30%). This distribution suggests a prospect who maximizes current tools while building the foundation for advanced development.
COLLEGE FIT PROJECTION:
Wilson thrives in up-tempo systems that emphasize guard creation and defensive pressure. Her skill set aligns with programs that value two-way guards who can initiate offense while providing backcourt versatility. The Southern Stronghold development pathway (Texas) gives her exposure to elite competition and systematic skill development.
DEVELOPMENT PRIORITIES:
1. Pick-and-roll reads - expanding from scorer to facilitator
1. Passing accuracy under pressure - converting deflections to assists
1. Help defense principles - team concepts beyond individual pressure
1. Shot consistency - maintaining efficiency as volume increases
PROJECTION TIMELINE:
Wilson enters high school with tools that typically take 2-3 years to develop. Her early athletic maturity and competitive character suggest accelerated growth potential. By junior year, expect refined decision-making and expanded offensive versatility. Senior year projection: complete floor general with high-major capabilities.
BOTTOM LINE:
Savannah Wilson represents the modern point guard archetype - athletic enough to create separation, skilled enough to make shots, and competitive enough to impact winning. The foundation is elite; the development pathway is clear.
Player First has a legitimate prospect who understands that great guards don’t just score - they make everyone better while applying relentless defensive pressure.
