South Carolina senior guard Tessa Johnson heads into the 2026-27 season and stands firmly established as one of the most clutch and lethal perimeter scorers in the country. Fresh off a dynamic junior campaign that earned her All-Second Team SEC honors and her second NCAA Final Four All-Tournament Team selection, Johnson cemented her reputation as a big-game assassin by averaging 12.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.5 assists while ranking fourth nationally with a blistering 44.8 percent clip from beyond the arc. Her elite shooting ability and fearless postseason poise are legendary in Columbia, highlighted by her program-record 27 career made three-pointers in NCAA Tournament games—including a career-high 19 points in the national title game as a freshman—and anchoring the Gamecocks with 90 triples last year. Possessing great size at 6-foot-0, a silky-smooth stroke, and a knack for delivering in high-leverage moments against top-tier competition, Johnson enters her final season ready to lead Dawn Staley’s squad as an indispensable pillar in their quest for another national championship. 🐔🏀 #Gamecocks #ncaaw #SECWBB #WBB
