On the strength of news coming out of Russia I've spent the evening ordering candles, gas stove, water filtration system, wind up radio & solar lantern. I'm sure we'll survive but I would bet the farm that the near-future involves attacks on and disruptions to UK infrastructure, which is hardly robust at the best of times.

‼️ Jim Ratcliffe:
🔹 Backed Brexit
🔹 Moved his tax residence to Monaco
🔹 Abandoned plans to build the British 🇬🇧 Grenadier in Wales and moved production to France
🔹 Now lectures Britain from Denmark about why the country is on the slide
And who does he blame? Immigrants and people on benefits.
The billionaires who helped hollow Britain out always point down, never at Brexit, tax flight, chronic underinvestment or their own decisions.
*Toughness* seems to mean somebody poorer paying the price.
If Keir Starmer does resign, history will look back on his reign and scratch its head as to why the hell he was so hated.
On paper, he's probably delivered more to working British people in such a short time than any PM for decades.
After inheriting an absolute mess: NHS waiting lists fallen. Worker's rights improved. Rail operators nationalised. Improved relations with EU and improved UK's global reputation. Removed non-dom tax status. Halved childcare costs. Boosted state pensions. Lowest homicide rate in 50 years. Lifted 550k children out of poverty. Immigration vastly reduced.
We are in the age of billionaire funded misinformation, whose sole purpose is to topple democratically elected leaders, and insert leadership that favours the wealthy elites over the working people. Looks like the game plan is working...

What I find funny is that the reactions almost prove the point of the statue.
Everyone looks at the man blinded by the flag and immediately thinks: “that’s the other side.”
The right sees woke fanaticism.
The left sees nationalist extremism.
Nobody seems to consider that the flag might be covering their own eyes too.
Blind people pointing at blind people.
Absolutely awful experience at @SubwayUK where they've placed order screens on front of the counter. No engagement with staff, issues with the screen that noone was helping customers with, longer delays as people search rather than just ask...
They've lost a customer for good.

🙏 RIP Ricky Hatton: The People’s Champion
He was never chiselled marble, he was heart and hunger, the body shots thudding like hammers, the charge forward irresistible.
Hatton carried Manchester with him as pride. In Las Vegas the songs followed him, thousands roaring their lad into war. He laughed with them, drank with them, bled for them. He knew triumph, he knew torment, yet he kept reaching for light.
At 46 the final bell has tolled far too soon. Boxing has lost a champion, the people have lost one of their own.
Rest easy Ricky lad 🥊

So, next 9/11, we're comfortable being completely alone, right? Leaving NATO and abandoning all of our allies makes us an easy target. They bled with us when the time came, not in the 40s, between 15 - 20 yrs ago, 850 NATO member soldiers died in Afghanistan in our war. With friends like us, who needs enemies?

From my experience living in the Caribbean and paying attention to nattual diasters around the world, when you see marine animals move like this something is going to happen.
A miles-long cluster of dolphins has been filmed off the coast of California, forming an unusual "super pod" of more than 1,500 marine creatures. abc7.la/42EsPJh

Hate seeing stuff like this, but it's becoming more of a regular thing with these Premier League clubs. 😔

Sewage spills considered illegal by the EU are getting worse thanks to Brexit.
We lost control! Brexit is literally sh*t
The EU previously acted as a watchdog on water pollution that could impose fines of millions a week if rules were not being followed.
However, the regulator that replaced its role in Britain – the Office for Environmental Protection – does not have the same powers, according to experts.
The bloc has also taken steps to strengthen its wastewater laws as the UK lags behind, analysts said.
