This Halloween, it’s time to bring back an old teaching of the holiday: we should neither hope nor expect to cheat death. So I argue in @NRO. nationalreview.com/2026/10/w…

Lou wrote a fantastic article for The Blaze about the publishing industry. What he revealed about Aethon Books really surprised me, sadly. Sounds like they are one step away from employing sensitivity readers.... One item I would have added to his argument is the industry's fabricated and self-fulfilling axiom that "men don't read," which is completely false. This may have only become true in THEIR publishing circles because the fools at the Big 5 have mostly stopped publishing books targeted at men. Just look at the current state of the fantasy genre from the Big 5. Those books are now almost solely being written and published for women. And thanks to those degenerate authors who create them, it's mostly erotica, which only serves to corrupt hearts and minds. Because of the Big 5, we will never get another Wheel of Time style series ever again. Those seriously retarded fools. Like with every other art form in our current Age, sane and moral creatives are just going to have to do it themselves.

Here’s the thing about “Keep theaters alive!” and “Go watch this film in the movie theater!” It’s a two-way agreement. The audience agrees to pay to see films in a theater only if: - The filmmakers are shooting scripts that have a thesis statement/intention/point. - The actors and director are giving it their all, and not phoning it in. - The edit has trimmed off all the fat. - The film isn’t some didactic exercise, intent on jamming a “lesson” into us. - The studio executives have paid close attention to the film from start to finish and have given the filmmakers useful notes to keep it all on-track. - The film is entertaining. - (And the theater managers are maintaining some order and decorum in the theaters themselves.) Otherwise, the audiences will continue to stay home and wait for the films to come online, so they can maybe watch five minutes of it or scrub through, and then turn it off. The film has to be excellent. Or at least try in that direction. Much of what is released is just not good enough.

Looking forward to reading Sylvester Stallone’s new memoir, THE STEPS, which chronicles his gritty childhood and his Hollywood career playing unforgettable, iconic roles, including Rambo. He and I had many conversations about the character I created in my novel FIRST BLOOD.

To the Americans: I've travelled all over the world. I've familiarized myself with many places, and met many people. And I'm a Canadian, although I’m privileged to reside once again in the States. And here's something I've noticed, and it’s a key element of America's continuing greatness: You bloody Americans value success, and you believe in its existence. This is something that doesn't really happen anywhere else in the world. Even in other free democracies—the United Kingdom; Finland, Sweden, and Norway; Australia, New Zealand and Canada; Germany, France, and the Netherlands (great countries all)—a counterproductive cynicism too often reigns. Success is equated with exploitation. Ambition is looked upon with contempt. This happens sometimes in the United States too—particularly among the miserable progressives, who confuse their resentment, ingratitude and unearned skepticism with wisdom. But in your great country, by and large, striving is admired and success celebrated. This means that more people strive and succeed in the US than anywhere else. And it's increasingly obvious. You remain stunningly more innovative and productive than any people anywhere else on the planet. And so I say, as all should who are fortunate enough to live in the western world, let alone America: Thank God for the United States. Thank God for the wisdom of its founders. Thank God for its faith in the free market and in the natural rights of man. Happy birthday, you damn Yankees and Southerners. Long may your admirable country dominate the world. Long may your freedom and hope provide an example to those suffering everywhere at the hands of their malevolent states. May your two and a half centuries of unparallelled success be just the beginning. Your country is the light of the world, and the city on the hill. Thank God for the USA. Happy 250th. Dr. Jordan B. Peterson

JUST SO WE’RE CLEAR: I never cared that you were trans. Until you started rubbing it in my face. I never cared what color you were. Until you started using your color to get extra "rights" that none of us have. I never cared about your politics. Until you started condemning me for mine. I never cared where you were born. Until you tried to erase my vote and steal our jobs. I never cared that your beliefs were different. Until you declared mine wrong. Now I care. My patience and tolerance are gone. And I’m not alone. There are 80 million of us who feel the same way. That's why we voted for Trump. Can I be any clearer?

Hey Jasmine… Black pilot here. I think you missed the plot. Then again, that’s becoming a pattern. I graduated from West Point. I went through Army flight school. I learned to fly the AH-64 Apache. I deployed to combat and flew 55 combat missions over Baghdad. Nobody handed me a cockpit because of my skin color. Nobody lowered the standards for me. Nobody looked at me and said, “Let’s check a diversity box.” That’s what people like you don’t seem to understand. Suggesting that Black pilots, Black engineers, Black doctors, or Black leaders need special preferences to succeed is not empowering, it’s insulting. I didn’t want a different standard. I wanted the same standard. And when you’re flying into combat, the American people don’t care what race the pilot is. They care whether the pilot is qualified. Merit isn’t racist. Excellence isn’t discriminatory. And reducing every achievement to skin color says far more about your worldview than it does about mine.

At 65, I’m already a relic from a bygone era. An era where the customer was always right. An era where you could speak to the manager and the manager would actually try to help you. An era where if a business made a mistake, they apologized instead of blaming the customer. An era where customer service reps actually answered you instead of ignoring you or looking at their phone. An era where people took pride in their work and treated you with basic respect. An era where “the customer is always right” wasn’t laughed at as some outdated joke. An era where stores had cashiers who smiled, restaurants had waiters who actually checked on your table, and airlines didn’t treat you like cattle. An era where businesses understood that without polite, competent service, they wouldn’t have any customers left. Now, I’m just some old guy who still expects common courtesy in 2026. And apparently that makes me the crazy one. Well sorry kids… some of us still remember when businesses had to earn our money. And I'll never settle for less or reward bad behavior. Am I the only one who feels this way?
