In today's 2x4 to the self-esteem...I learned that Draft2Digital's $12 maintenance fee for those of us who don't earn $100 in sales per year comes out of the current balance, leaving me w/a negative balance of $2.12. If anyone would like to support a starving author, I do have books to read; I just don't shout about them here. One with relevance to the upcoming Halloween and Christmas seasons is "Silver Bells." books2read.com/u/4Nlap6
Y'all won't believe this...but I have set every clock (including the Stargate) to the correct time. Every time-keeping device in my home is currently synchronized. For the first time in the 10 years that I've lived here. (We'll talk about the car clock another day.)
Doing lots of stuff this evening. Noticed something odd about an hour ago.
My neighbor (the stalker one) has all her front lights off (which is the sign meant to deter trick-or-treaters). Now, you might think, "that ain't so odd." But hear me out.
The stalker neighbor is addicted to minding everyone's business. E v e r y o n e's.
And she decorated her yard like a demented haunted patch of blow-up pumpkins and vibrant ghost creatures at the beginning of the month, with these things moaning and vibrating for the past 30 days and nights as if beckoning every passing vehicle to put her house on the trick-or-treating map. I'm not exaggerating: when I was checking the mail one day this month, I saw a person stopped to take video. (She actually decorates with copious blow-up characters and solar-powered lights for every holiday. All the usual events, of course, but the fringe ones, too. I mean, that place turns into a leprechaun-infested shamrock-fest in March.)
My point is: It's bizarre that tonight, all the blow-up pumpkins and ghosts are flat and lights are out when all month, she's been advertising 'This Be Halloween Central.' I just find it odd that she's not encouraging everyone to ding her Ring camera and get candy.
Psychologists could write technical papers on the levels of relief I feel at gaining an hour in my weekend...

I can’t believe Macron blamed his own people for the chaos in France instead of African Muslim invaders.

Someone should suggest that we take on the Mona Lisa and random other important pieces of art "on loan" to safeguard while France falls. Someone should suggest this to @WhiteHouse and @SecRubio and others...
Is there an open bag of Nestle chocolate chips at my desk with me? Yes. Yes, there is. It's past 8 pm and there are many more projects to work on so... don't judge me.
I see a money-making opportunity here. Someone absolutely needs to mass produce targets with this outline...
Winston decided I was taking way too long getting the breakfast ready. What's interesting is he picked out his bowls to eat from while I finished putting the toppings in...
#SaveStargate from insanity... Let's hope for the best. I'm really hoping for a miracle here ...
This. This right here. I'm nowhere near the path of the current storm so I have no reason to be worried. But this right here STILL gives me peace. We're gonna miss this man and I sincerely hope the infrastructure he's built stays strong...
🚨 JUST IN: Gov. Ron DeSantis that Florida has staged more than 1,000 generators, a half-million gallons of gasoline, 1 million gallons of diesel, more than 3 million MREs and 1.1 million bottles of water ahead of Hurricane Isaias, with tolls waived on the Garcon Point Bridge, Spence Parkway and Mid-Bay Bridge to speed evacuations
@GovRonDeSantis: "The Florida Division of Emergency Management is coordinating with all local counties to address resource requests as well as to position key equipment ahead of the storm."
"More than 6,000 utility linemen and restoration personnel are standing by to support power restoration during the storm."
