Across their past five films never have LAIKA ever needed to disclaim this. Yet it’s all so important and urgent as to why we need to support handmade animation. All is say see WILDWOOD if you haven’t (esp on the biggest screen you can). Tell your friends. It’s such a triumph.

Another early exploration for finding the look of Nakali 🌴🌊
We were pushing from the softer beauty of the Philippines toward something sharper, more graphic and a little more dangerous, from mountain shapes and vegetation to surfacing, waves and water ripples.

It’s an absolute honor to be part of such an amazing animated film as Forgotten Island!
While working on the character concepts, I had the wonderful opportunity to learn about the unique culture, history, and spirit of the Philippines.
It was truly an incredible experience.
I’m also so happy that I get to share some of the work with you!
The directors were such a fun ppl to work with, and the whole team was fantastic. The entire production was such a fun and exciting experience, and I feel like the final result really captures and carries that energy.
First of all, congratulations to Januel and Joel!
And congratulations to everyone on the inhouse team who worked so hard to bring this project to life!

Still can’t quite believe I got the chance to paint the DreamWorks title screen in the style of Forgotten Island. ✨
