The reason why the Public Education System is broken is because all the leaders and administrators are career educators who don’t understand efficiency or how to run a business. And when you get someone who does know that, the career educrats demonize them.

Despite what Texas’s governor-elect, @GinaHinojosaTX says, vouchers aren’t a scam. -4 in 5 students in the program come from low-income families -1 in 4 has a disability. Those students deserve the opportunity they were given.
Gina Hinojosa delivers the agenda for Public Education Texas: “On Day One, I will fire Mike Morath and we will work tirelessly to repair the damage of the Texas voucher scam - And end an era in which our schools are sold for parts:”

An Ohio appeals court ruled EdChoice unconstitutional, putting vouchers for about 180,000 students at risk. The ruling is on hold while the Ohio Supreme Court decides. Parents shouldn't need a judge's permission to choose their own kid's school. efinstitute.org/2026/10/scho…

New York decided parents don’t need to see how schools are actually performing on AP exams, and the rankings took a nosedive for high-achieving schools like Success Academy as a result. When unions control the system, the first priority is protecting their power, not letting taxpayers and families see the results. washingtonexaminer.com/op-ed…

Ohio spent $1.173 billion on private school scholarships this year. A union president calls EdChoice "a handout to the rich." The biggest program averaged $5,114 a student. Autism scholarships averaged $30,318. That's money following kids, as it should. efinstitute.org/2026/10/ohio…

“The default system where students are assigned to a public school based on where they live instead of their needs has had decades to perfect its equity story. What is now emerging is instead a landscape where families have the power to find and select the option that actually fits their child.” excelined.org/2026/07/31/a-m…

Most school districts are well past the point of diminishing returns--where an additional dollar of spending no longer yields much of any academic benefit. This is made clear in data like that from Ohio here.
FACT: In 2022, 191 school districts were "fully" funded based on the FSFP formula. Their student outcomes were no better than the districts that were "underfunded."

Indiana’s NAEP story is pretty remarkable. The first big surge came during—and immediately after—the Tony Bennett years. Now, under @SecJennerIN, Indiana is climbing again. Worth asking what these two eras got right.
